Clearspring | Shoyu Soya Sauce | 2 x 500ml

Having lived in Japan for a number of years (now living in the UK), I realise that soya sauce as a fermented product should be approached in much the same way as red wine. This soya sauce has an excellent body and depth of flavour that I can only heartedly recommend. As such it is probably best enjoyed as it is (as you would enjoy a fine wine), used as a dipping sauce for sashimi or to form the main flavour of a Japanese noodle bowl. Also: check the ingredients list on the back: short and simple; just like fine wine, there are no strange additives to artificially 'speed up' the fermentation process (or to mask the lack of), or indeed hide a lack of flavour. By far the best available soya sauce in the UK, in my humble opinion.

I use shoyu in place of salt in all my cooking, salad dressing etc and have done for years. Highly recommend.

I just cant seem to open the bottle.

Some soy sauces are full of sugar and whatever else and taste like garbage. I have tried to buy soy sauce without the additives in the past but this is the best one I have tried. I went from this to another "quality" brand because it was slightly cheaper and lamented that decision because it wasn't as nice.

I did not notice any different from any other soya sauce. I use it to season my meat.
