It's brilliant! My old electric blanket finally died a few weeks ago. When I was shopping the next day in my supermarket I saw that they were selling electric blankets and was delighted to get a replacement so quickly. I bought a single blanket but when I got home and unpacked it, it may have been called 'single' but it just sat in the middle of my bed and neither reached the sides nor the foot of the bed. As my feet go into cramp if they hit cold sheets, I knew it was not going to work but thought it was better than nothing so I put bed socks on top of the small area that would be heated. If I did that and kept my arms by the side of my body they kept reasonably warm. I put up with it for a while but then I found this blanket which is the same style as my old blanket which fits not only the entire width and length of the bed but also has a net skirt around the edge that tucks underneath the mattress and is deep enough to go over both the mattress and a thick topper that I have on the bed. The other good thing is that it heats up much quicker than my old one did and is safe enough to sleep with it still switched on. It says that you can also unplug it and put it in the washing machine but I haven't tried to do it. It is easy to fit and it stays in place really well and the controls are easy to use and well placed right at the top of the bed rather than a quarter of the way down so it doesn't untuck the sheets when you go to switch it on. Best of all it gives me all over warmth and comfort which, for aching joints, equals pain relief.

I don't know what switched in me recently, but after 40 years of English winters and freezing mattresses I decided to buy my first electric mattress cover. I chose this product based on its decent volume of high ratings and its pricing being about middle of the range. I read some of the comments, including negative ones, and decided to give it a go. Before I go in to the details of the product I feel it is relevant to understand a bit about me and the cold. I detest that first 10 minutes of getting in to bed on to a cold mattress. And I also note that my feet are often cold throughout the night during winter. You kind of get used to it and almost forget how miserable it is after a while. Our bed is next to a largely windowed wall, and I have the cold side! I occasionally suffer from insomnia and I was also wondering how much low temperatures contribute to it. After experimenting with the cover I now switch it on to level 1 (of 3) on my side - my wife likes level 2 or 3 initially. This mattress has dual controls - so you can control things independently of your partner - which is essential unless you happen to be identical with regard to the cold. We are not though. We switch it on about 10 minutes before bedtime. That is enough - others say 30 minutes which I do not think is required. For me level 1 is a bit like a normal temperature mattress - i.e. not warm/not cold, just neutral. On a cold night I will just leave it like this all night. It is more than enough - and the heat is more focused on the feet - perfect! Warm feet somehow make you feel more healthy. I imagine that you could save on fuel bills by turning the heating down and leaving the cover switched on all night. My wife just switches it off after half an hour. The control has a warm light on when it is on. It is easy to locate and control in the dark. There is a certain amount of commenting on the plastic connector on the mattress cover at around the upper arm level each side - which is where the cable-entry point is. It is quite thick and it is not comfortable to lie on. They could do with being in each top corner where you are not going to lie. It is slightly disappointing but does not really impact either of us too much. I was a bit confused as to which side was up on the cover. If you do it one way the connector is less prominent - but I am not sure if I have got it upside down. I do not see how that matters though. I do not find the ribbed nature of the cover is that prominent either. I now do not even notice it under the sheet. The important thing is that it is a good quality, stretches over the mattress and fits well, does not move around, distributes warmth perfectly and has helped my sleep and battle against the English winter.

This is my first ever electric blanket. I was slightly dubious on purchasing an electric blanket, but after looking at alot of other products, I decided on this one, the fact that the blanket is fitted to keep it in place was a big tick for me, as was the fact you could leave it switched on all night. The blanket actually covers all of my mattress!! Was not expecting that, the fitted material used has give & good depth, so it is not tight or awkward to put on, and the blanket does stay in place. I also decided to put my fleece mattress topper(it is not an ultra thick one) on top of the electric blanket, then put my sheet on(it is lush!! ha) I decided to set it on no2, an hour or so before bed, then when I went to bed I left the blanket on no1. It was the best night sleep I have had for a long time. I have a thick duvet, but when it gets colder I end up having to put a blanket on as well, strange as it sounds...I don't like the heating on in my bedroom. Since using my electric blanket, only my duvet is now used, it is just wonderful to be able to move my feet around the mattress during the night and not hit any cold spots!!! I forgot to put the blanket on one night, so I switched it onto no3, then pottered about for 15/20mins, and wow that bed was lovely and warm, then I switched it onto no1 when I got I to bed. Honestly cannot find any fault with this electric blanket, best thing I have purchased in a long time. I hadn't even realised how much I needed this blanket until after I had bought it!!! Most definitely highly recommended.
