These panel mount sockets work fine. A bit plasticky, but you get what you pay for. I used them in the construction of a little audio switcher box several months ago, and they've been in daily use since then with no problems.

Worked like a treat! Ive seen some reviews about people burning the plastic while soldering but i didn't have this issue and ive only soldered a few times before hand. i would recommend buying some shrink wrap.

Bought this for a school project which was to design and build a speaker dock, i ran this through two amplifiers and to reasonable success. The build quality is ok and the sound quality is fine, no crackling when the AUX cable is twisted or anything. The only problem I had was the plastic casing melted when I tried to solder it to the wires, this meant I had to be very quick with my soldering.
