Alien: Hissing Xenomorph and Illustrated Book: With Sound!

I'd read some other reviews for this and wasn't really expecting much... but for the price I thought it was worth a gamble. Very pleased to say it's much nicer than I expected and has that rubberised plastic (Neca) feel instead of the cheapo lightweight plastic that I expected, the sound effect and mouth operation is a fun novelty but the sound could have been scarier... having said that, I still disagree with the person who said it sounds like a cat - if your cat makes noises like that then you should probably consult a Vet immediately! The book is very small but I like the TLDR style and photo selection, a good quick rundown of Alien. Overall the detailing on the model is really nice for the size and it even has the transparent head, my only gripe would be the lettering on the logo not being painted (but you can always add that yourself later ^_^). Absolute bargain for the price and looks great sitting on top of my external hard drive, the side profile looks best.

This is a cool little collectable for Alien fans! Quite detailed bust of a Xenomorph that actually makes a hissing sound! Not come across anything quite like it out of all the figures and merchandise out there. It comes with a tiny booklet with stills from the movie and quotes, it's kind of similar to some of the minature collectables from "Game of Thrones" made by the same company. I was really impressed with this for the price, it makes an inexpensive gift for any fan or perhaps a stocking filler for Christmas.

If you're thinking about buying this, I imagine you're more interested in the miniature Xenomorph bust rather than the book. I managed to pick up mine for a little over £5, and at that price, for this quality of sculpt, I'd say it's well worth it. The bust is primarily made of a hard gray rubber which becomes soft and bendy at the dorsal spine/button, as well as a small pointy spine which protrudes from between the collar bones; I'm not sure what this one is, I've not seen it on any other Alien sculpt or design. As for the dome, it's a clear, smokey solid plastic which has a slightly, almost pale-golden hue to it and shows off some of the nice skull details hidden within. The finer details are all brought out nicely thanks to a black wash which covers the Xenomorph. This wash gets into all of those little nooks and crannies, between the ribs of the pipes, the teeth, and so on. At the bottom there is a nice little plaque with ALIEN stamped on it to finish the whole piece off. I can't comment on the Hissing feature as I've not tried it out myself as I don't want to wake the baby! The illustrated book is nice, but once you've had a flick through, there's not a whole lot to it. You can't exactly add it to a book collection. I merely used mine to perch the mini bust on top of. Over all, it's a very nice, highly detailed piece which looks great perched on my bookshelf amongst my other Alien/Giger books and mini sculpts.

Highly recommended for any alien fan even though it could fit in your hand the sound effect and its overall look and detail plus the mini art and quote book distracts you from the size and for the price a compact and terrifyingly awesome product this is one brilliant addition to any horror fans shelf or desk and well worth £5.59

Love this little Alien bust and book, great quality from Running Press again as I have two Star Trek and one Dr Who item from them. The bust is based on the original design of Scott and Giger's vision, the Big Chap with the transparent skull that differes from the ridged head version from Aliens. For a smaller item there is some excellent details to be found and the addition of sound makes for a nice little touch. The sound is activated by depressing the top of the spine where it curls outwards from the body. Not only does this activate the sound, but it also activates the inner jaws that spring forth! The book is also quite lovely with general information and very nice colour pictures. The packaging box is also very nicely done and is, in my opinion, worth keeping too.

looks good and sounds awesome i love Alien and Predator i collect figures of both et5c, and this a perfect add on to my collection, was i calling people and before saying a word unleashed the Alien down the phone..? Maybe lol

Very small, had to do some DIY cutting of the teeth so it's tongue would come out properly, but apart from that it is a cool little gift for an alien fan

If you're an Alien fan why haven't you got this. It's a large little xenomorph bust with a four inch head and pretty accurate. It's the ALIEN (1979) version and will poke its tongue out and scream for you. It's such a gem at a fiver plus and you get a little book too. Arms would be nice but hey it's dirt cheap! Alien fun...

Honestly I love it, it’s kept on my Xbox next to my pop figures and is a wonderful addition. A little smaller than expected but for the price it’s wonderful. The noise is a cool addition, however I removed the batteries from mine. A must buy for any alien fan to keep around!

Ideales kleines kostengünstiges Geschenk/Mitbringsel für H.R. Giger / Alien-Fans! Vor allem für Männer, wo man weiß, die stehen auf 'Giger / Alien'!....Kam als Geschenk (bei einem männlichen Alien-Fan) jedenfalls sehr gut an! Das Miniature-Xenomorph ist von guter Qualität & eignet sich hervorragend als 'Frust-Ablass-Figur' am PC ;-). Ob man jemals 'ne neue Batterie einlegen kann, wurde noch nicht ausprobiert. Das kleine Büchlein ist daumengroß & beinhaltet coole Zitate & Illustrationen, die man als Alien-Fan mag - einziges Manko für manch Deutsche: die Zitate sind auf ENGLISCH *lol*. Ich konnte das tolle Exemplar für u 10 Euro ergattern & bin somit super zufrieden!

Es algo pequeño, pero tiene buenos detalles y la función de sonido me encantó.

Petite figurine mais avec tous ses détails ! Très agréablement surpris par rapport au petit prix ! Le livre fourni avec est.. gadget, c'edt minuscule et contient des photos du premier film. Pour tout les fans d'Alien, je vous le conseille.

Sabia q era pequeno, mas foi até um pouquinho maior do que imaginava, pra quem tem duvida esse busto é do msm tamanho de um action da Neca ( do torso pra cima), embora o busto seja pequeno o som até que sai alto, gostei bastante e ficou muito bom do lado do meu Big Chap da Neca
