Has anyone used this for scoliosis lower back pain? I wondered how effective it is.

Sorry I've never tried. Used mine for gardening and found it very helpful. You have to pull the two side belts quite tight for gardening. You can have these less tight but I don't know how much support you would get.

What is the width of the belt? I am looking for a brace for my mother who is 4ft 10in so most belts are too wide for her body.

I am 4ft 11 and it is perfect for me.

Can this be worn to play golf in?

It is what I bought it for, and yes it can. I can't wear it next to my skin so I do have to wear a thin fitness t shirt under my golf shirt, and wear the BraceUp on top of the thin shirt first. Slightly affects my back swing/rotation, but it's only thanks to this that I can still play I reckon, so I'll take a bit of stiffness over pain any day.
