Great story for Y3 English
We were studying Stig of the Dump but used Stone Age Boy for a shorter narrative for pupils to base their narratives on. It was perfect. It is a lovely story and beautifully illustrated. We particularly liked the sections that detailed Stone Age life - so useful for history lessons! Definitely recommend.

Great story, linked with KS2 curriculum.
My son was studying the stoneage at school and we came across this book. He loved the story and linked with his work perfectly (in fact they read it school at a later date!)It’s a lovely story with great illustrations.

Good for learning about the stone age
I bought this as my daughter is learning about the stone age at school. They are reading this together at school. The pictures are bright and colourful and as well as a story there is information in there as to what the stone age people did, what tools they used, how they lived, hunted etc. Great resource for if your child is learning about the stone age.

Well illustrated
This was purchased for grandchild who was studying this at school. Curious mixture of over simplified story text, and more detailed pictures and text of stone age life. The ideas are suitable for a 6 year old but not th writing.I was NOT impressed by the careless packaging by Amazon as the book arrived crumpled and bent - not ideal for a present!

Great literacy text for Stone Age topic, lower KS2
I am a primary school teacher and have used this book as a literacy text for Year 3 / 4 classes during our Stone Age topic ('Stones and Bones'). The book is told through first person from the perspective of a modern day boy who finds himself in a strange and different time. This really helped my pupils imagine themselves being immersed in the time of the Stone Age. Lots of great language and imagery.

Pre-historic boy
Great for this autumn term, Year 3 topic at school to visualise and imagine life before written history.

THIS IS A MUST FOR ANYONE FASCINATED WITH STONE AGE.
We loved this book. It combines good storytelling with non-fiction. Ideal for any child aged 6+ learning about/fascinated by the stone age. A must for teachers teaching about this.
