Electric and Hybrid Vehicles Paperback – 24 Mar. 2016

I make my comments as person who has been involved in the transport industry and motor trade since 1974. I have also taught the subject for the last 10 years.As an introduction to the technology behind hybrid and electric vehicles it is excellent. Having said that, I cannot say I have read the book thoroughly as yet. However, the chapters I have scanned through gave me all the relevant information and theory I feel that is required when I start to teach the subject.There are plenty of relevant images that accompany the theory for ease of understanding. The text is written well, allowing the theory to be absorbed in a flowing type of way.Does it contain all the information I require to teach to a higher level - possibly not. From what I can see, the main omission is on the myths and misunderstandings that many in the motor vehicle industry have in relation to hybrids and electric vehicles. Will people care about that if they buy the book - probably not. However, in my view it is an omission that in this day and age is absolutely necessary to convey.Misunderstandings of the technology sends a message out that the public in general are not interested in buying into it to it. That in it self sends a message to the motor vehicle repair industry there is no need to equip their garages accordingly. Those in the industry that do not, will not survive in the long term.

We are urged to go electric or hybrid for our next cars. However, there are degress of hybrid that are not so obvious and this book provides lots of background. Well recommended.

This is a basic book of the fundamentals of the EV and Hybrid vehicles.Ideal for those that want an understanding of the technology under the bonnet of their electric or hybrid vehicle.

A good book but not as deep as I would have liked. Recomended for the person that has or is considering buying these types of cars.

Well written, easy to follow for beginners and experienced students. Excellent book for anyone studying for the hybrid /electric vehicle qualification.

Very good book. I bought this since I'm doing my masters project on electric vehicles. It provides good information. Not necessarily very technical.
