Honest, punchy and to the point. A great motivator!
Love this book!It shifts the inner critic, so you can get past it and the barriers that have been holding you back. It gives you clarity, empowering you into action and, importantly, to keep going, understanding that life happens (with all its delays, set backs and bumpy starts)! Fear is put in its place, as Shàà points out "regret weighs more", "fear looks bigger" and "you can't turn back time".Honest, punchy and to the point, this book is a great motivator! What are you going to start?

We bought a copy for each of our staff...!
The way the book is presented makes it a very light read and one where you can pause, think and restart from where you left off quite easily. Essentially and as the title suggest it's all about getting on with "doing" your passions rather than just talking about them. I think all of us have times when we begin to drift and need a little kick in the pants to snap us out of it - well this book sure does that.I like to think that I am a doer type, and most of my friends and colleagues would describe me that way. However, once I read this I found that there was still so much more that I wanted to achieve and could get on with right now too!The way in which the book is presented through the use of quirky illustrations and visual aids makes it one of the more entertaining books from the business section. On this point, I actually would not consider this book to be solely regarded as a business book but one that can help in personal life quests too.So to sum up, the key lessons I got from it were;* To remember that the "weight of fear is a lot less than the weight of regret" essentially meaning that there is no reason to be scared to start "doing" straight away.* When approaching your chosen passion, keep in mind that pragmatism is far more effective than just a dreamy vision.* Don't get into looking at too much information or data because it can lead to a paralysis through analysis. At some point you just have to JUMP!I have made it policy that this title be part of our new starter pack for any staff joining the team. One of our core values is to "Believe in yourself", and I feel this is a common thread throughout this book. When you have individuals that believe in themselves, some wonderful things happen which I will try an share my thoughts on in the future.

start reading, stop playing playing football manager!
A good friend lent me this book a few months ago for gratis! What did I do I tell you. Nowt, well I bent over the front page and left a coffee stain on page 3. He visited a month or two later and I had to scrabble around my house looking for this book to return only to admit 1) I hadn't read it, 2)I had damaged his book, 3)I had started my own business or hobby as we discussed some months earlier. He left in his new car not looking too upset about the truth, I parted with a good bye gesture, commenting on his new look, he looked a bit buff, as is he had taken up a new exercise regime. Then I thought, he had a new car, looked fit and healthy and wanted his book back!Led me to think whats in this book, is there a formula for achieving a fitter body, health teeth a glossier new coat, no this isn't pedigree chum but it is a damn fine read. We all have different ways to learn, the mixture of visual pictures, great quotes from Winnie the Pooh to Mohamed Ali, and the snippets of business formulas worked really well for me.Well I know you all want to know what happened next. I told 6 people that i had this book, but not read yet as I'm too busy talking about it, but now really pleased I've read it as it was easy and fun. Anyway must go to start doing, 1)get off couch, 2)put iPad down, 3)have a shower, 4)plot world domination, 5) make a more smart plan 6) get dressed. Enjoy. I did.

Not mind blowing but worth a read
A lot of pictures and illustrations in the book but they help to get the message across, as they say a picture paints a thousand words. You can have it read in a couples of hours easy. Some good persuasive ideas in the book that get you thinking about taking action. A nice easy read with some humour throwing in here and there. A little shorter than expected with nothing already said before but worth the price I think as it summarises some good ideas into a handy sized book.

It really is a kick up the pants!
I loved the style of this book. It’s super easy to read, implement & get you taking action. The format is concise, motivating and you feel like you have a powerful friend whispering in your ear willing you to get on with it! If you’re struggling to find your mojo, want to take action & need that Adrenalin shot to get going this is it! Enjoy! 🚀

Get in the ring with Stop Talking Start Doing
Entrepreneurs, like boxers, can sometimes punch well above their weight regardless of how big or how powerful their opponent may be. But in order for hands to be raised, you first need to step into the ring. Not watch it from the stalls. Through her book "Stop Talking Start Doing", Shaa Wasmund shows us exactly how to do just that. Written with Richard Newton, the duo managed to combine a nifty combination of down to earth inspirational jabs to bring our fears and excuses to the ground. Making sure they don't get back up before the bell rings, allowing us to just get on with it. And if you think it's another motivational book, you might want to think again. It's not. I've read a trunk load of those books and this isn't one of them. It's witty, to point and doesn't 'faf' about making it almost impossible not to read it from cover to cover in one sitting.Having recently seen Shaa Wasmund deliver a keynote speech at a conference I attended in London, I knew Shaa was indeed a women of action. "Stop Talking Start Doing" packs in a great amount of reasons why you should stop talking and instead, start doing. It's the sort of book I wished I'd written. It's short, sweet, colourful and most of all strikes a chord in all of us: You can either be a talker or a doer. Ultimately, it's your call.Enjoy the read.

A book you will actually finish and use.
A typical Shaa Wasmund no-nonsense approach to that typical killer of intent, procrastination. This is an easy to digest and implement self-help book full of practical advice based on business experience and research. Perfect for any journey, I read it on a short flight.Highly recommend for commercial ventures or any change you want to actually make happen.

A Bold New Year Resolution
As we approach the end of 2011, and the start of a New Year, most of us will get into the psychology of starting afresh, setting fresh goals, renewing promises and commitments and making New Year Resolutions. The best resolution anyone of us can make is: 'Stop Talking, Start Doing". This may sound simple but it is very profound and if applied with discipline and consistency, it will take us places. It will lead to a life of fulfillment, satisfaction and a "joie de vivre". Most of us are born procrastinators, we have this usual human tendency of putting off things, thinking that we will have plenty of time tomorrow or next week or next month or next year, and time just flies, and we never start. We get sucked into the Fear-Regret-Greater Fear- Greater Regret- Depression cycle. This is so well highlighted in Shaa's book and it is a great message, motto and reminder for action. The more we delay "doing" due to irrational fear of the "unknown" or discomfort, we accumulate regret. And regret weighs more than fear, and the burden keeps increasing the more we just talk and talk and not do and do. And when we look behind, ten years have gone by and we are still stuck.Stop Talking and Start Doing is really a kick in the Pants and the sooner you get that kick the better, you will save a lot of time, energy and more importantly regret. So if you want to make a Resolution let it be Stop Talking - Start Doing, and I promise you, when you look back in December 2012, you would be proud of yourself.Simple to read, well illustrated, well organised, very profound message.Hats off to Shaa Wasmund who has written very powerful stuff at very young age and has achieved so much. And her secret is now revealed, she "STOPPED TALKING, STARTED DOING" from very early and she keeps doing.Must buy!

Hit the nail on the head
Simple to read. This is a book I will highly recommend to my friends and family. The layout is funky but easily digestible for "busy" people.

Five stars or no stars
I was either going to give this five stars or no stars, but why not be generous? Five stars because it provides well paced, well meaning motivation to get on and do things. Shouting "Just Do It" a hundred times just doesn't work for me, or for most people I suspect. No stars because it doesn't actually tell you how to do things, apart from a discourse on SMART objectives. It is actually all talk and no action. No little checklists, daily affirmations, paper exercises, well, not enough that you will notice. But here's the thing. After reading this book, I actually knuckled down and did all the things I have been meaning to do for the past three months. So who knows. Maybe there was some sophisticated psychology going on here, maybe only you can work out what it is you have to do, and only you can do it. It worked for me, what more can I say.
