If you have a Hernia, this belt may help.
Last Fall, while trying to clean huge amounts of leaves for composting, I managed to create a hernia, trying to shake compacted leaves out of the collection bag. It did not take too long before I knew I had a problem, and it hurt. I could stop and sit down and it would go away, but come back if I tryed to work very long. After a few days I knew what the problem was, and could do limited things if I was careful, but it was sure an aggrevation everyday trying to not overdo it.After a lot of research on the Hernia subject, I knew my options, and I had friends that had gone through the repair operation and some results were positive, some not. There are some risks with getting it fixed, although if I was not in my 70's I would likely have had the procedure right away and still may as time goes on.My Father wore a truss for years, so I was aware of them, but did not really want to deal with that primative device I remembered him using. I finally got tired of having to constantly be careful and the pain of over doing it at times. Long story short, I researched these more modern trusses, read the reviews and decided that for the price it was worth a try until I decide where I want to go with this.WOW, this thing worked from day one and I wish I had found it sooner. Personally, after I put it on, I quickly forget it is there, and have a normal life again. The only problems I have found are having to remove and replace it if you have a bowel movement ( urinating is no problem). Putting it on and getting everything on place is best done lying down, you can not do that in a public restroom. You can do it if you are careful to get everything pushed back into place, just take the time and be sure it is. The only other issue for me is when you have to do something while you are doubled over, (not just bending over),for instance, sitting in a chair and leaning over and doing something on the floor it can pinch the skin on your hips and become quite tender. Hope that makes senseBottom line, if you are just trying to get by until you can get a medical procedure done this might be something to make your life more bearable until that time, but a hernia can be very serious, so please give it the respect it requires.

Too big
I measured according to directions but the belt was two or three inches too long. There was not enough Velcro to allow tightening

Clumsy and useless
Poorly made. Tossed it in the trash

It's all about fit.
This is actually the second one I bought. The first one I bought was a large and I usually take a 40-inch waist pant...give or take. I wore it for a day and it was kinda too tight. I just recently discovered the hernia, and until I come to terms with surgery, I'll go this route. So I just received the extra large and it feels great. You want it to feel secure without cutting your circulation. And I wear it all day and take it off at night. I am actually trying most of the ones on Amazon. So far this is the best. It's all about your body shape and the position of the hernia. This wraps more on the upper hip below the waist. As in the photo on AmazonI am not thin but not visually heavy. ( I wear oversized clothing. A trick I learned in the 80's)I do though have an unfortunate roll of fat just over the hernia. Whichever one I get, takes some maneuvering to get to the comfortable place and get your pants on.I also wear this next to my skin, and with powder, and it's fine. To be blunt, it's easier to pee. There is no ripping it off, just whip it out as usual.Waiting to see what those white brief ones are like.As I said, I will try them all. Its all about comfort. At this time, surgery has to wait till I get the nerve.

Not enough Velcro on the Leg Band(Strap)
The waist band has enough Velcro, but the leg band strap does not have enough holding power and needs larger Velcro pads. I pas should have double the amount of Velcro for more holding power. When removed and replace several times, it tends to loose the ability to hold in place. The Velcro in this area of the Hernia Belt is to skimpy! I was tempted to give this 2 stars only just because of this. I may give it another rating after a couple of washings.

GET ONE NOW!
Left side groin pain was unreal and I like pain. Went to the doctor and he scheduled surgery but not for at least a month. I asked him about a belt as an interim measure and he gave me an unclear answer. I came home and went to Dr. Amazon and found this with excellent reviews and thought I would give it a shot. I have prime but I paid for one day delivery and in less than 24 hours it showed up. I wear it over my unders and I haven't had as much as a twinge since. Yes it is tight but what a relief. Well made product. Pay attention to your size selection. Money well spent.

This belt has kept me working! I work in a hospital transferring patients and without this belt I would be a patient!
