Really substantial quality lock. We used this on a bathroom door in an old 1920's home that wouldn't close completely. This enabled us to lock the door while in the restroom without having to change out the door.

Solid and fantastic little bolt latch. Used for my Chicken coop as the ones that came with the coop were flimsy and weak. Would definitely recommend this one.

I found this slide door latch to be very well made and of very sturdy construction. The latch body is machined from aluminum and is approximately 1/4" thick, it has a heavier duty make up than thin metal body latches I have used in the past. It is made so that it can be installed in any position on a gate or door because of 4 bolt handle keeper slots. The bolt is made of stainless steel.It is a smaller size, about 3" long overall, which I think works good for low security situations on a gate, shed door or a cabinet door. It comes with small attachment screws which would work okay on a low security situation like a gate or shed door, but to make it more secure for a door situation, I think heavier duty hardware would be necessary.Personally I would not use or consider this latch secure enough for a situation that needs higher security, like a front door.

Easy to install and functional. Great value for the money. Looks nice and it kept my French doors secure.

Works well on my door

I was very surprised to see the body of this lock is milled aluminum. I don't know how they can sell this for < $10, but here it is! It feels very sturdy while relatively light. The only observation I would offer is that the fit with the bolt is VERY close. There is no slop at all. This sounds like a great thing, until you try to install it and realize that being off more than a couple thousands will cause the bolt to bind up. Most locks like this allow a bit of play between the bolt and housing for this reason but not this one. I ran a drill through the hole to open it up a little. You could also grind a tiny bit off the tip of the bolt itself. It's not worth knocking a star off though because it actually speaks to how well machined these things are.
