This is a complete, comprehensive guide to herbs, from identifying, growing, harvesting, herbal remedies including SAFETY, including a glossary, index, index of herbs by ailment, useful websites and more! It's illustrated by photography. I personally like that warnings are given about certain plants. Pharmaceutical use and history is very interesting as well! Whatever herbal/plant books you may have, this should be your herbal medicine textbook.

My wife got me this for Christmas a couple of years back, and it have had steady use for it ever since. It contains a brief overview of (broadly speaking) the different traditions of herbalism of the World and then 100 entries on key medicinal plants (I've attached a picture with an example) and 450 lesser entries on other medicinal plants (There's also an example attached). It also contains handy guides for making different herbal remedies. Where the book really shines however is in the inclusion of by aliment, so you can look up an ailment and see what herbs are listed as provided relief against it.

This was a fantastic gift for my mother in law who is interested in herbalism. It reads like a very user friendly text book. Best part for me is the illustrations, it helped me engage way more with the information. The hardcover and page quality are beautiful. It’s also just information and not “woo woo” for those that matters to. Great purchase!

The Encyclopedia of Herbal Medicine is a great resource for herbal remedies, with over 500 herbs listed, with uses and recipes for many common ailments. Anyone interested in herbal healing should have a copy of this, it's a thorough guide, with detailed information on each herb, as well as plenty of pictures to identify them. Definitely a must-have!
