Q: Are the materials of this product (especially the metal strip of the burr that connects to the handle) decent to handle everyday operation?

Yes. The drive shaft bit is polygonal in section and you have to keep taking the handle off to fill the thing with beans. So far after several months use it can still be a bit stiff to pull off. Also it makes me wonder if the receiving bit of the handle will eventually wear to become round and not engage well. But it seems good quality steel - fine so far

Q: The bottom that holds the ground coffee is slightly oval in shape and will not push straight on, you have to squeeze it to push on. Normal?

No. It should be circular, fit snugly. Definitely shouldn't have to squeeze it on. I'd send it back for a replacement :-)

Q: Is this suitable for Turkish Coffee?

I would expect it would be suitable for turkish coffee, although I have no direct experience myself.The grind adjustment allows you to select a very large range of grinds from large chunks to fine powder, so I have been able to find appropriate settings for french press, aeropress, drip, and espresso.As a tip, though, the upper portion of the mill has a fair amount of horizontal play to it, which can allow bigger chunks through on the side farthest from surface of the bottom mill. I wrapped a rubber band around the upper mill, which reduced the amount of horizontal play, which resulted in an improved evenness of grind at all settings. Other than this one point, I am absolutely delighted with the quality and design of the product.
