Fantastic reeds
I know that getting the correct reeds is very subjective. But for my son these are perfect. He really liked them. Maybe a little more expensive than some other brands but he thinks they are worth that extra bit.

Consistently Good Organic Tenor Sax Reeds
I am very happy with these D'Addario Organic Select Jazz Unfiled Tenor Saxophone Reeds. The great quality is easy to see as soon as a reed is removed from its protective sleeve. I tend to soak my reeds for a while before playing which I found suited these perfectly for my playing style. The tips are precisely crafted and they fit very well to my Sax mouthpiece and ligature. I find that they respond very well across a wide range of dynamics with good note attack and a pleasant timbre from my instrument. They are just perfect for Jazz improvisation and provide great articulation and responsiveness which really suits the fluid and spontaneous nature of my playing. I also like the fact that they are made from organically sourced cane. I have used a number of D'Addario products over the years which have always been of great quality and these reeds are no exception. For the pack of five the price is around what I'd usually expect to pay for a really good quality pack of five reeds which are effectively the conduit for my musical expression. Recommended.

🎷 Good quality organic reeds. Play smoothly and easily 🎷✅
You receive 5 reeds in this simply presented - but nicely printed - card box. Each reed has a card cover and the only gripe I have with this pack (particularly given the organic credentials) is that each reed comes in a cellophane packet! Come on D'Addario, if you're going to package an organic product, go the whole mile and make the packaging 100% recyclable too! The reeds themselves are pre-filed and great quality, particularly as they're not the most expensive (I've purchased worse for far more money). They don't take much wear in time and play pretty smoothly and evenly. The bases are a good size and shape and contact the ligature well. Very nice, no grumbles at all.

Reliable reeds, dark sounding
Compared to my usual Marca and Legere, these reeds are a bit darker sounding. However, I have learned that the same reed can sound very different when played by different people, so it is well possible that they can be made to sound brighter witht he right tecnique. The quality is good, I found them all (of three I tried) good out of the box, after soaking them briefly, and similar sounding. Each reed is packaged individually, which produces a bit more waste but also protects them for long term storage. They are a bit expensive perhaps and personally I prefer my Legere signature, but more experienced players might get more projection with these. I think they are more rigid than any other I used, which makes it easier to get long steady notes (not something always asosciated with Jazz, more like classical, but again, probably it is the way I play).

Smooth, dark sound
All five reeds in the box were playable!! They produced a smooth, dark sound compared to my usual Vandorens or my Legere.

Another nice Reed from D’addario
First time trying Select Jazz organic reeds. I tried the Reserve organic 2.5 on alto which was easy blowing but squeaked a bit and was worn out in a few hours. The difference with the Select Jazz organic is that each grade (2,3,4) comes in three sun-grades (soft, medium, hard) so there are no half grades. I’ve opted for the 3 soft so will see how this new grading system works for me. There’s still the great feeling of playing on an organic product but they are still very pricy (£32 for 5)

As expected when but if from a quality brand.
Nice reeds that are well made to a really good quality. I can't pretend to be an expert, but these are a perfect replacement for my old ones, easy to fit and get started on. Really happy with these.

The reed table is the most crucial part of the reed. By removing the brand stamp from this area (the reed table), and transferring it to the top of the bark, the new reeds have a way better seal than the previous version. Good redesign!
