Zero Sugar Smoky

This is the best Zero Sugar sauce I have had to date. I’m using it on darn near everything. Love it!

BBQ sauce is a staple in our household. We all LOVE it and they are all SO different! I use various types/flavors of BBQ sauce for different things. I prefer something thicker for dipping but something thinner for cooking.We had the opportunity to try several different sauces from the Lillie's Q brand. We enjoyed them all! This Lillie's Q Zero Sugar Smoky BBQ sauce is definitely on the thinner side. That isn't necessarily a bad thing depending on what you want to use it for. I didn't find it to work that well for dipping as it didn't have enough "cling" but it was perfect for cooking, marinating, and basting!We tried the HOT version of this sauce and it had a little more heat than this. This one isn't very spicy at all even though cayenne pepper is included in the ingredients list. It adds a tiny touch of heat but is NOT spicy whatsoever. If you prefer something a little hotter, I would go with the Hot Smoky version!The flavor is a bit sweet and a lot smoky. It didn't have that strong, artificial smoke flavor either. It also has a delicious and somewhat strong yellow mustard flavor which really adds a unique tanginess to the sauce.I LOVE that the sauce doesn't contain any added sugar. So many BBQ sauces contain a surprisingly ridiculous amount of added sugar and I really don't like my sauce to be THAT sweet or THAT unhealthy. The sugar content is nonexistent (0 grams) as the sauce is sweetened with sucralose. I didn't notice any unpleasant aftertastes that you sometimes get with using alternative sweeteners, probably due to all of the other wonderful yummy flavors.We tried this sauce with pulled chicken sandwiches and slow cooker pork shoulder. So delicious!The bottle is glass and was packaged VERY well to ensure a safe arrival!

I love Lillie's Q. Went to their restaurant in Chicago and really liked it before it burned down. Been buying their sauces for years. I tried the no sugar varieties. I don't like them. Bad aftertaste. It's due to the artificial sweetener. I would prefer they didn't put ANY sugar in at all if it is no sugar. Or, experiment with honey/molasses or something like that.I might also add, many ENC sauces don't contain any sugar in the wild. They are simply red pepper flakes, apple cider vinegar, some salt and pepper and maybe a little hot sauce. When you get to Memphis, you start to see the sugar quotient go up.for me, I'd rather have the sugar and the flavor that comes with it rather than the artificial sweetener.The problem with these sauces is the aftertaste. Great if you have to avoid all sugar.

This is a really tasty zero sugar sauce. It is a little thinner than I had expected, but it works well as a marinade. I used it on chicken and it turned out delicious. It is smokey,with a bit of Tanginess.

Product tastes great, wish I got the 3 we paid for. Only 2 arrived in the package.

This zero sugar smoky barbeque sauce from Lillie's Q is very tasty. It's got a mild amount of heat and smoky flavors, but I do think I prefer the hot smoky version that I've also sampled. As someone with sugar sensitivities, I like the idea of only getting 10 Calories in 2 Tablespoons of this sauce, compared to 70-90 Calories in most BBQ sauces that have sugar/corn syrup as major ingredients. Lack of sugar means that this sauce is less likely to char or burn on a BBQ too. The thing that takes some getting used to is that this is designed as a runnier sauce, which does change the ratio of sauce you'll get when dipping french fries, for example. I did find that things with more textured breading exteriors did a good job holding more of the sauce, so it worked out nicely with some air fried chicken nuggets that have a dry, textured breading exterior. I also found that applying a layer of sauce to toasted buns a few minutes ahead of assembly of a burger also helped the sauce absorb into the bun a bit and reduced runout while eating. I was particularly impressed with the bubble wrap and box that protected the sauce and helped the glass bottle of sauce arrive safely.

I really like this BBQ sauce. The bottle feels like glass and isn’t cheap. A good amount comes into the container. The first thing I noticed about the BBQ sauce was that it was a bit thin. It didn’t have a thick texture like other BBQ sauces. Whenever you move the bottle, you’ll easily see the liquid move around like water. The aroma was nice. It smelled like a typical mustard based BBQ sauce. The sauce itself had a somewhat tangy flavor that wasn’t too overpowering. Once cooked onto my ribs, it blended very well with the seasoning that I used. I love how low calorie and low carb the BBQ sauce is. It’s much more healthy than the zero sugar BBQ sauces that I’m use to and would highly recommend it for someone dieting.

It's not easy finding sugar free BBQ sauces so I was excited to give this one a try. This sauce is savory, sweet & smokey. My family really likes the taste. It is not thick, so may not be the best choice for all uses, but for the uses it is suitable for, it is really an excellent choice. I marinated some tofu in this sauce and it came out excellent. After marinating the tofu, I pan fried it and used the marinating sauce in the pan with the tofu. It did thicken up a bit in the pan. It was delicious!! I tried using the sauce alone as a dip for something else, and it just was not clingy enough for me. The taste was there for sure, but my food was just not coated with dip. Overall I enjoy this product very much and will try their other flavors.
