Works as expected - matching accessory - just buy it
This is paired with my MD-380 (non-GPS). Works as expected. Although I suspect it is a rebranded radioddity (visit their site for a bargain) GD-77 speaker mic ... I guess I paid extra for the TYT label and Prime delivery. This does NOT have the "motorboating" issues I had with cheaper unshielded mic's (I'm looking at you Baofeng).Has the same pro-sumer rugged feel that the MD-380 has. This is totally going in the car for mobile use. I may try a CB speaker for audio out thru the speaker mic side port.Oh - and the comment about "squishy" PTT button? Mine has a nice "squeeze - click" feel to it. Nothing cheap about the feel. Nice affirming click when transmit is engaged. For best audio, I prefer to hold the mic with my right hand - top of the mic along the right edge of my mouth with the PTT facing up (mic and speaker facing to my left). This way I am talking "across" the microphone instead of "into" the microphone. Nice clean punchy audio.Just another tip. My favorite long range antenna while walking about is the MFJ-1717S.This microphone also works with my Baofeng UV-82 - but it only transmits with the B channel (lower display). Also - that radio has a tendency to keep the speaker mic connection a little "loose" - so I often find the radio transmitting when I least expect it. Not a problem with the TYT MD-380. Just an observation. I had the same mic/transmit problem with the Baofeng non-82 mic and the headset/earpiece that came with the 82.

Shocked how well it works
Works great with my TYT MD-390.Now I can put the HT in my hydration pack and use the radio while mountain biking.Good volume, good signal reports. Seems sturdy enough.Have about 12 hours on it so far.

Works well…
…for the price. About 2 months use on it and it is holding up well. It is used once a week but all day use on it.

Easy To Use, Good Clarity
I currently use this mic with a Baofeng UV5R radio. I use it for deployment with my CERT team, primarily on UHF. I can hear other radios clearly, and as well as the more expensive radios others are using. For whatever reason, the base station can hear me with greater clarity than if I use the built in radio mic. The one thing I don't like and this is not the fault of the mic, I hope someone can design a fix so that when you plug in the mic, the PTT switch on the radio is disabled. Range testing of the Baofeng with the mic has been good, up to five miles with flat terrain and structures in the way. Beyond 5 miles it's hit or miss, but the mic improves both TX and RX clarity. I have used it in the rain, and no problems have occurred. I also like that it is compatible with other two prong handheld radios. The clip is strong, and rotates 360 deg. I would buy it again if I needed another mic. Another user commented on the cord length. I am 6-3, the radio is on my right hip and I bring it up to my left shoulder around my back to a mic loop or collar and clip it. Prior to having the mic loop I had to clip it to the breast pocket of my safety vest. Either configuration works, although the left shoulder is optimal for me. I believe the cord length is just right for most people.

Very good build quality and great sounding audio
I was looking for a suitable speaker mic for my MD-380. Not only was this well priced but I use it frequently and it’s pretty durable. It sounds good over the air and RF does not get into the mic wiring. I mention this because cheap, poorly made lookalikes can sound terrible due to RF overload.

Good build quality but too Low volume (TX /RX)
Too Low Volume, bought 2 of these and they had the same problem and returned them.I bought 2x Code Red Signal 21k Speaker Mic instead after reading alot of good reviews about them. What a difference! Build Quality, Crisp click from the PTT- Button AND Above all, so much louder volume while receiving / Sending. 5/5 Stars!Ditch this one and pay some more for the Code Red Signal 21k you wont be disappointed.

A robust and nice piece of kit
It is a great and nifty little piece of kit. it sounds ok and pics up sound very well. The retention clip swivels and is robust. Also the button for the ptt is satisfying yet silent. The quality of the plastic is great, feels grainy to the touch and thick there are no creaks. The pig tale cable is long and thick and the kenwood plug seems to be of good quality. I have it connected to my baofeng uv5r works no problem and I have a 3.5 mm jack cable connect from the ptt to a Howard Leigh’s headset and the sound is great. So all in all a great addition to my plate carrier.

Works great.
Bought these as an upgrade for my baofeng radios, much better sound quality, button functionality and durability at the cord connection. Work great even when covered in snow & ice all day snowmobiling. Would buy again.

Terrible cheap and didn't work
As soon as I opened the package I knew it wasn't going to be good. The clip at the back was loose and the speaker was extremely quiet, put didn't work either, apart from that great!! I cross checked radio serviceability with another mic. It was quite expensive as well!

Way better the the cheep ones
I had a few pairs of the cheaper ebay ones. The sound quality was horrible. These work great. They sound as if you were using the speaker on the radio. They have a good fell and weight to them and the click on the ptt button is nice. We got them for winter activities and they worked great in the cold and snow
