Versatile lightweight mini tripod
A great mid-sized Gorillapod and with the Joby ball head makes a good, light mini-tripod. This 3k size is fine for mobile phones, GoPros and Insta360 cameras. The 1k model would also work for these lightweight devices but having a 3k Gorillapod means it will be sturdier and you can also use it for small mirrorless cameras and micro four thirds cameras. For your larger cameras you’ll need the heavier 5k Model. I bought the 3k kit model with the Joby ball head and Joby bespoke, non-standard, slide-in plate (it’s not a standard Arca plate), but it works fine with all my cameras. The combination is very sturdy with all medium sized cameras. The ad does say the head has a ‘panning’ feature but this is not quite true. Yes, if you release the single clamping knob you can spin the ball head on its base but your camera may also move from its original position (depending on its weight, of course). This makes true panning a little difficult. I don’t have a problem with bespoke plates or the lack of true panning as you can easily remove the ball head and swap it with one you already have - or buy the Gorillapod with the standard Arca plate ball head. Joby Gorillapods are not the cheapest you can buy but you are paying for quality. They won’t replace a standard tripod but they are very light to carry, can be used where large tripods are not allowed (i.e. in most public places), and you can wrap them around a fixed object to get the required height for your shot.

Awesome is all can say really
I brought this after using the little one on my GoPro for a while and seeing how good that was (I submitted a review for that too). I was still a little cautious because my Canon EOS 1100D whilst not exactly new is still going to be quite pricey to replace if I break it! This was something I needn't be worried about as far as this gorillapod is concerned it will hold up to 1Kg in weight but I suspect its probably far in excess of that! I have had it wrapped round all sorts if things to hold the camera upright and it's never failed me. The ONLY minor niggle I have with it (and it is just a minor niggle). Is that if you are in a hurry and have just untangked it from a post of some description and want to straighten it out to use on the ground or a table etc it takes ages to straighten it properly simply because it is so good at holding itself up and the joints are (necessarily) stiff and difficult to move. This may change over time and the may become slightly looser with use (not too much I hope or it wont be as effective!). All in all this is a truly awesome little tripod and you would be well advised to buy this and not a cheaper alternative. I would happily recommend this to anyone that's looking for a mini tripod

Won't work with Arca Swiss tripods
Won't work with standard Arca Swiss tripods. Read the product description carefully. This L-bracket will ONLY work with JOBY Vert 3K equipment. It's the wrong size and has the wrong fittings to work with your usual tripods (utilising so-called Arca Swiss fittings). That's a great pity since it is a lovely piece of kit and comes with spirit levels on both angles of the L-bracket (presumably because there aren't spirit levels otherwise provided in the JOBY Vert 3K setup?), which is a very nice touch.

Recommend to someone who uses camera or smartphone to take photos or videos
The tripod kit is flexible, strong and highly compatible to camera and smartphone. It is easy to mount a camera and so stable even a camera with a long range zoom lens. And the smartphone mount is large enough to hold a iPhone 16 Pro Max, that is so great to large-sized smartphone user. Finally, the price of the kit with the smartphone mount is so valuable .

Handy multipurpose tripod
It is relatively light, and easily transportable. It's flexible legs allow it to stand in small spaces and attach to things. It has a ball socket to adjust the angle of the camera. It isn't 100% sturdy or stable, but it is better than not having it, and better than rigid tripods of this size. I find it works best with a delay timer to ensure stability when taking a shot. It is a tool worth having.

Very versatile tripod for filming!
After picking up the Canon M50 camera, I knew I needed a small tripod to pair it with to get good photos and stable time-lapses. I was attracted to the JOBY GorillaPod due to the reputation they had. The best features about the tripod are the small design which makes it easy to travel with. It fits well in all of my camera bags and doesn’t add too much weight. The strength it has for the small form factor is also great. It holds the Canon M50 well with a variety of lenses. One of my favourite features would be the fact the legs are flexible and can easily wrap around fences and posts to get some interesting shots. I also really like the ball head that it comes with as it makes it really simple to take portrait shots. Overall, I would say that a JOBY GorillaPod is a must-buy for anyone that travels around with their camera. I don’t use it often in client projects, but more when I’m travelling. Make sure to pick up the correct GorillaPod for the weight of your camera and lens as I had to return one I bought for a heavier setup. The flexibility and portability make this a product that I would definitely recommend.
