This must have canopy accessory has been designed increase where you can use your gazebo and minimize the risk of heartache caused by a flying canopy. These heavy duty feet are to be filled with water or sand and fitted around canopy legs to form a secure grounding system. This simple to use product allows canopies to be used on hard surfaces, removing the necessity of ropes and pegs.

Great idea - Quality has declined
I had a set of these I used for farmers markets. I got asked about them all the time, and recommended them to many people. My first set were used multiple times a week for several years (probably totaling 150 times on and off or more). One of the hinges started to split, so I ordered a new set. The new set lasted less than a year. The hinge on them, which is just a thinner piece of the same plastic, is thinner than it used to be, and they don't last like they used to. Also be aware of your leg size as there is a small knob in the center, where the tent leg goes, that can make getting these locked into place difficult if your canopy leg is thick. What would make these better would be a better/stronger hinge, the elimination of the knob (the foot of the canopy is wide enough that they won't pull out in wind - that knob doesn't need to be there) and a locking mechanism that is easier to lock. I ended up replacing these with the velcro closure cloth bags, which I lined with plastic bags to keep the seams intact. So far, they are working well.

Convenient and Effective
We have used the Palm Springs weights a few times so far. We are using water, not sand, and the weight is sufficient to keep our 10' x 10' EZ-Up canopy tent firmly planted on an asphalt surface. What I like about these weights is the ability to use water and then simply empty them on-site before heading home. They fit the legs of our EZ-Up canopy perfectly.I did not rate it 5 stars because of two things. First, the plastic is extremely thin. It just seems like they could be easily punctured. Second, the closure caps snap into place and do not have a gasket. We filled them with water prior to transporting them to our event site. Each time, they have leaked water while being transported. Also, as I snapped these caps into place, sometimes the top of the plastic container started to collapse. It has always returned to its original shape, but I think they need to modify the design by adding a gasket and reinforcing the plastic for more rigidity and durability. If you plan on using sand, I am sure the leakage issue would not be a problem. I was more interested in the convenience of using water, because very few tent weights offer the opportunity to use water as a weight material. When filled with water, each weight is 18 lb. (8 kg) which is plenty for my application.

Nice concept
Nice concept but not sturdy. The first thing broke right away after the first use. Then one by one the other 3 hinges broke. I guess I'll either throw them away or duct tape them closed.

Very Poor Quality Control
The weights would work as expected. You are suppose to fill eight chambers (two for each leg) with water, sand, or gravel. The problem is that I initially filled them with water. Of the eight chambers, two had very bad leaks. The holes were approximately 1mm in diameter and would have been obvious under any kind of testing (pressure or light) if the manufacturer had bothered to do so. In the end, I filled the chambers with gravel and avoided the issue.

Don't purchase. Poor design and poor manufacturing.
These are poorly manufactured. There are two sides to each weight and the side with the latch leaks around the latch attachment points, so only half of the weight will hold water. You could fill the other half with sand, but the filling holes are too small to easily put sand in. I would never recommend these to anyone and have warned away everyone who has asked about them.

These are perfect for my gazebo...
These were put to the test yesterday as we had a really hard hitting storm with pretty strong winds-and my gazebo did not even move with these on -I filled them with water...I have a cement patio and these work great! Would highly recommend, but would recommend using sand instead of water as the water evaporates readily and sand does make it heavier. Good product!

Good value, sturdy
Filled with fine playground sand and they worked great. Didn't have much wind during the time we had the tent up, but It was up for 48 hours and no problems.

Love the weights
I purchased these to go with our Gazebo, a week after I installed them we were it with very high winds that tore up my neighbors yard, but my Gazebo was still in tact and looking good, I filled my weights with water, it has now been almost a month and they are holding down fantasticly love them and highly recommend them.
