Q: Reviews seem focused on what it might do, but has anyone had experience where an item was lost and the tag was used to reconnect you and your item?

In the past year+ we have been offering these tags, there are several recovery cases where the tag worked as expected. However, the product is intended for others (officers, good samaritans) who intend to find the owner. If the item the tag is on is stolen - the thief removes the tag and any identifying ribbons, etc. first thing - so it is not an anti-theft product. One can get these lojack kind of devices, but they are expensive to own and require ongoing maintenance.

Q: Could I also attach it to my dog's collar?

Sure, this is one of many applications for Dynotag . If someone finds a pet they can scan the Dynotag or have someone , with an app for reading tags, scan this tag and they will be able to find info on the pet's owner.

Q: will it work if it is inside the luggage?
