My first upgrade bag
I used my old Nikon D5300 kit bag for about 4 years until the zipper finally rapped out on it. Good thing too because I had collected more gear and it all wouldn't fit anymore. So I shopped around and came across this Domke F-2 bag.It looked good, read the reviews and people seemed to love it but all the pictures I saw gave me the idea this bag was HUGE and I did not want a "huge" bag, just something that would fit a camera body, 3 lenses, speedlight and extras. So I bought it anyway from lack of other options...Turns out this bag was smaller than I thought, but bigger than my previous bag. Noticably bigger. I could easily fit in everything I had with room to spare! I was very pleased with it. The straps are thick and sturdy along with the bag itself. Not sure about waterproofing, I wasn't going to leave it outside during a Houston tropical storm to find out.My only gripe is the metal clips on the front pockets, they are hard to undo (I have rheumatoid arthritis in my hands and fingers) so I just leave them unclipped and it's fine. Certainly not enough to dock them a star. Bag itself is very hardy and from what other have said, will last a lifetime and I believe it. The compartments are snug and well-padded, I can just "drop" my lenses into the compartments and know they will be fine. For me, this bag is the perfect size I was looking for (about the size of a backpack) and will probably be the last camera bag I own. Very pleased with it after a few months and would highly recommend.

best working bag for a pro
This is my third Domke F-2 bag. After almost 30 years of carrying a bag on my right shoulder, I always am amazed at how well this bag works, or should I say how well I work with the bag.I do alot of different types of shooting, sports, news, commercial and I load it up everyday with different lens, flashes, batteries, etc... and it's always ready to access what ever I need.As for the compartments. I have the lens spacer in the middle so I can throw 2 Nikon D3 bodies in on the sides. Kinda snug but I would rather have it tight than loose. I carry 4 lens's. A 80-200, a 10-20, a 17-35 and a 85mm. They fit just snug enough not to worry about falling out while shooting. I use the 2 front pockets for nikon flashes and they fit perfect. The side pockets are great for batteries, cards, or what ever.Inside the flap I store cleaning supplies and some cords. The back pouch carries papers. I even use the pen pockets for a sharpie marker. All in all, this bag was perfectly designed to grab something and keep working without the hassle of taking it off your shoulder. It stays put and forms nicely to your body while not getting bulky. It is a classic shooters bag.

The best camera bag of it's type. Period.
When Jim Domke set out to design a bag he was thinking about working pros, photojournalists mainly, and he delivered. If you want an over-the-shoulder bag and aren't carrying an entire studio around with you, this bag is the ticket. With the standard included insert, it holds two bodies, a 70-200 zoom, my flash, a short medium zoom and a prime ultra-wide, plus spare batteries for everything. In the side pockets go a TTL cord, wireless receiver and more cords. The front pockets for the blower-brush, lens tissue, a small LED flashlight, more batteries, and other knickknacks of the trade.Even without the optional padded shoulder pad, I can carry this bag all day long and it's overall bulk doesn't hamper my movements when I'm working a crowd. Fits in the overheads, under the seat, and has a handy carry strap.Great bag, and nearly indestructible (disregard that if you run over your bag with a car. Oops). As for weatherproofing, I've stood in the driving rain and my equipment has remained dry.Love this bag and highly recommend it.I bought this bag because I just wanted a newer, shiner bag. The first one is now a backup, having lasted nearly twenty years, suffering only coffee stains and some scuffing of the corners. These bags are *tough.*

Great BUT !!!!!
This great bag would get 5 stars but unfortunately, the two metal clamps (clips) that secure the front of the bag are a mess. Hard to open and pinch fingers trying to open. A much better design would have been the plastic buckles used on so many other bags and straps that slide into lock position easily and securely. Or, additionally, they could have used a strip of velcro for the closure. I will remove these metal clips and replace the hooks you find at the end of those bungee cords that opened and close and don't pinch. Hopefully on newer versions that will ditch these clamps. By the way, I read a similar review speaking to the same problem with the clips. But still, a good bag that is short of being great.

I didn't understand the hype until I opened the box...
I didn't really understand the appeal of Domke bags when I ordered my F-2. I had an ONA Bowery before, which was a fine bag, but it was way too small for my growing mirrorless system. I had tried a Think Tank retrospective bag in between my ONA and this one, and the Think Tank felt cold. When I opened the box that the F-2 came in, I immediately understood the appeal. The pictures don't do this thing justice. It is seriously rugged. The material is very thick, and it seems like it could take a lot of abuse and still hold up. I think the size is perfect. I was concerned going from a small bag that I might be going overboard with this one, but it fits everything just right. I can put in two Fuji X-T1's with 4 lenses and have it feel comfortable. The side pockets fit my two Yongnuo 560 flashes perfectly. It's a beautiful thing.
