Q: Hello, was just wondering if the lamp is UV as well as heat?

This lamp gives out UVA but no UVB. NO incandescent bulbs can emit any UVB even if it says it does (with the possible exception of mercury lights, though not sure if they are incandescent or not).You probably know that most animals also need UVB to maintain their health and to enable them to form vitamin D3 and many people use a fluorescent light strip to provide UVB over a larger area of the space that their animal is in.Quite what fluorescent light is best depends on the kind of animal you have. Some need a higher UVB output than others.

Q: What size fitting is this bulb? The larger screw in E27 or a small E14 size?

Hi Laura,this particular basking bulb is a E27 fitting and works well with no problems to date.I use this bulb with the Exo-terra glow light dome.Hope this helps.

Q: How much heat does the 25w create? What temperature does it go up to?

It depends on your vivarium, if it’s a table top, there’s not enough heat for winter, if it’s a glass front this will retain heat at around 28 degrees centigrade, temp will go higher sometimes in excess of 30 degrees centigrade. Sometimes it’s best to have a plug-in thermostat too.

Good value for money, the bulb just screws in and was able to get the hot spot of my tank to 31c no issues. I always keep a few of these in my home as they are cheap and reliable

Arrived boxed didn't look to be damaged. Upon installing into the lamp I noticed a strange blotchy film on the bulb and when I tried to turn it on, no light was emitting. Tried in another lamp no luck. Dodgy bulb.Looked at getting a replacement sent out and thought it's not worth the effort of having to package up this one and drive 2 miles down the road to drop it off for amazon collection. Won't be buying bulbs online again

2 months use. How long should a bulb last as this doesn't feel very long and this is the third bulb that I've purchased since December.
