Fantastic learning tool! AAAA+++
This is a very good toy. It is fun and you learn with it. I bought it for my two year old son and he adores it. You connect it to a computer and write the name of your child say Romeo. so each time you turn it on it says "Hello Romeo" you don't choose from pre-set names, you write whatever your child is known as say Sammy, Johnie, Kiki, Nikki, or any short cut name. It allows you to make that choice, so it makes the toy so personal for your child. It calls his name now and then. The email too is a brilliant idea. as we listen to the emails I composed to my son. he just beams with excitement! It is a good toy both for fun and learning. You learn have 26 alphabets with different 26 sounds of any musical instrument, 26 different sounds of different animals, 26 names of animals that begin with each letter of the alphabet and some music. How brilliant! and it celebrates the letter that begins with your child's name. The battery life is also good. It takes only 2 small batteries and really lasts. my little boy adores it and i think is a very good bargain and worth every penny. No regrets.

Leapfrog Childs Laptop
very nice size for childrent to handle/open & use. Can be personalised via USB link to Leapfrog website. This allows for your own child's name to be inserted to Laptop, it tells the child it has "e mails" & reads the "message" and who its "from" (again pre-set options - Mummy/Daddy et et, decent amount of options-(from a list of pre-set options, when you log-in to personalise the Laptop). Nice learning aid/toy that give's because it can be personalised slightly, give's it an edge, useful especially for younger children. Great price at under fifteen pounds when purchased on Amazon.Battery life very good.

Good, but could do better
Well-constructed and designed mini "laptop" for your toddler. The settings can be personalised by logging onto the Leapfrog website and setting up an account, then each time the laptop is started or an interactive program is used, it will address your child by name. There are plenty of functions on the device to keep them amused and it serves as both a play and educational tool. This is the second one I have bought over the last three years, and my only gripe is that the graphics desperately need upgrading, even if this means a slight rise in price. At present, the blocky, 80s-style images are not appealing even to kids of this age when most have some access to smartphones and tablets with their bold colours and realistic visuals. So it really doesn't compute that the Leapfrog persist with this prehistoric technology - particularly when, that aside, they have produced such a worthy item.

Another Leapfrog winner
I bought the Leaptop for my grandson Ethan and was very pleased with the quality. I have previously purchased other leapfrog toys and always rate them very highly. When l'm looking after Ethan he loves to send an 'E' to mammy and always has a smile on his face whislt doing it. He is 2 1/2 years old and bangs on the keys like crazy so very pleased its durable. Although I must admit it looked very strange watching him the first time he used it. His little fingers were tapping on the keybaord like a well trained typist. For the price it amazing. Only thing I would change is music choice it would have been nicer to have popular nursery rhymes with lyrics for him to sing along to. Would highly recommend it.

One of the best toys
Sturdy, ours took a lot of falls from the bed, chair, sofa and had no problem. The voices are very clear and easy to follow and repeat for a small child. It can be connected to the computer and personalized which we have discovered after we received it - and it was a nice surprise. Boght it almost a year ago when our daughter was 1yr3mo Good value for money. Overall we are happy with the product and will recommend.

quite versatile but some fundamental errors
I read some good reviews for this toy and I do like the fact it has a lot of different features, so giving our son different places to visit when one feature is tired with. It's good to introduce a child to letters when they are starting to talk as well. I also like the idea you can personalise with his name and songs of choice. However, some fundamental errors with this toy. The first, which has given you the low score.....X is for Ox! is it now?! Was it sheer laziness or stupidity on the part of Leapfrog not to find an creature beginning with X? A 10 second google search (animals beginning with X) throws up plenty - try Xantus, X-ray fish......Shame on you Leapfrog! And if you child has a remotely unusual name - our's begins with H and is scottish - they cannot correct an incorrect pronunciation - so when the computer says his name it simply drops the H. If your child has a even vaguely off-the-norm name don't expect Leapfrog to say it correctly....so why offer the feature if you really cannot personalise? The screen is not lit in any way - if in slightly dim light this is a problem. But for the £15 we paid for it, it's okay and our son does like it. And it's a bit of fun since he has seen my husband and I working on our laptops. Durability - we don't know yet but it seems robust enough unless, perhaps you have a boistrous child. I wouldn't get this for a 3 year old.

Best product for my son.
My son loved this product and won't let it off his eyes. It is a good learning toy for my son. teaches how to pronounce alphabets and animals name they stands for. Plays lovely music. It is also portable for a toddler and helped to keep him away from my laptop. unlike other toys it personalizes and stores e-mail for the child to read; allowing them the opportunity to learn how to pronounce words too. Excellent seller, prompt service; i will definitely buy from them again. 5 star product, 5 star service from seller. I highly recommend them.

Personally, I quite liked this toy. I first bought it for my first born and then again as a gift. It's an easy carry along toy although you cannot use it in the night time as the screen is not back lit, but that might be better for the eyes of young ones. It an easy way of introducing alphabets and animals to a toddler where they can pretend to work on their laptops. My son has used it since he was one. Over the time, he has learnt the gaming part where you have to guess the animal as it appears in parts on the screen and press the correct alphabet, helps in developing critical thinking skills. Even my 6 month old has started showing interest in the toy. Well built, compact, light-weight and attractive toy for pretend play. There are two different volume buttons and the voices are clearly audible. Overall, a nice product.
