Mozart for the fingers
This is (I think) the first volume of Mozart's Sonatas in the Schirmer's Library, and for me this was a great way to re-acquaint myself with the practice of playing Mozart, following a gap of (mumble) years since I passed my Grade 8. In those days, one routinely learned a Mozart Sonata for one's Royal College of Music exams. I had assumed that, this would be an 'easy graded' version of the original, but as far as I can (now) see, my exam piece (from 1978) is pretty much identical to what I am now playing from Schirmer, albeit in a different key.The book is, of course, great value. In fact, it is almost impossible to use the word 'value' in a meaningful way, given the fact that it should last for years, and will no doubt challenge and reward the persistent player for a very long time.I have always found Mozart's Sonatas to be almost hypnotic and relaxing, when listening to someone else playing them. Now I am finding exactly the same theraputic benefits, when it is my own fingers producing the sounds that I love, albeit somewhat more hesitantly than my recordings. The other great thing about these pieces is that, generally, they may be sight-read initially, but one very quickly attains a degree of competence through practice - so very rewarding, without an extended and humiliating learning curve!

Very happy with my purchase.
I bought this set of sonatas some time ago but I am still learning them, slowly. I find the fingering particularly helpful. The binding of the book is good - I have been using it for many years now and all the pages are intact. The music print is clear.

Clear print and a well made robust book. Very reasonable price too.

IT'S ALL THERE JUST HOW THE MASTER INTENDED
HITTING MYSELF OVER THE HEAD BECAUSE I AM NOT AS GOOD A COMPOSER AS HIM BUT ALSO IT IS VERY GOOD FOR TEACHING. DARE I SAY THAT THE ORNAMENT EDITING IS A LITTLE PEDANTIC?

Good value!
Printing isn't as clear as it might be in places, but for the price this is excellent value. Useful fingering numbers, and other notes for the pianist. My copy is now well thumbed and a constant source of enjoyment ...

The print quality is largely good, a few faded notes here and there but ...
A book containing all 19 of Mozart's Piano Sonatas, exactly what it says on the tin. The pieces range from about grade 6 and above I would say.The print quality is largely good, a few faded notes here and there but that's to be expected for a book this big.The only downside to this product is that the front/back cover are card rather being covered in a plastic sheen like other books in this series are.Would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking to learn Mozart's Piano Sonatas.
