Ok to help clarify some things. I just used this product a few days ago and i will definitely use again. I’ve had breakage with my hair and damage due to the box dyes so I need a more gentle natural approach to cover the greys I have. It comes with 2 packets so if you need less or just a touch up can get 2 uses out of one box. Second make sure you use really warm water and let it sit for 15-20 minutes it needs to hydrate. I personally like the smell it’s not overwhelming at all compared to other henna I have used. It smells like an herbal tea. I kept mine in for an hour and 20 minutes. I will probably keep it in for 2 hours next time to make sure I get the darker tone I like but also it darkens over time. I washed it out in my shower and it felt like washing dirt out of my hair but with a couple shampoos it was out just fine. It can be a little messy in the shower but give it a good rinse right away and you will be fine and shouldn’t have and staining. I highly recommend finding a good deep conditioner after you wash the henna out. My hair is damaged so part is my fault and needs conditioner but in my opinion it made my hair feel dry and once I used my hair oil and conditioner it was much softer. Also I did not experience any damage, breakage, or hair loss. This has been my issue with chemical dyes. I’m not sure if it’s in the instructions or not but I covered my hair with a plastic cap when I had the henna in my hair to help with keeping it off my clothes and i think it helps with the process of the henna. I wanted to share since it has mixed reviews and the instructions are slim. I hope this helps. I really like this product and will be using it again. Good luck

I couldn’t wait to write this review. I just washed my hair after coloring it with Alma’s henna. I went straight to the mirror to check if it covered my gray roots and it did! Yayyy! As I was washing it, not one hair came out, this is a great sign. This product is genuine (!), real henna that nourishes hair, gives it beautiful shine, gorgeous dark brown color and covers the gray. 8 years ago I discovered henna in my home country (Uzbekistan) at a hair salon. The hair dresser colored my hair with henna and educated me on how to use it properly. I bought enough henna from her to take with me to US. Wnen I used it, I had really thick and healthy hair. But after a couple of years after I ran out of it I started coloring my hair with regular hair dyes from the store. Over the years my hair was thinning, I think because of all the chemicals in the hair coloring products. Last week something called me to search for henna and I found this product. The reviews were awesome so I bought a couple of boxes. This henna is exactly the one I bought from my home country a few years ago. It smells and looks the same. The way I use it is I mix it with boiled water until it’s a creamy consistency. Once I apply it to my hair, I wear a plastic bag and leave it on for 2 hrs. Then I wash it with warm water and shampoo a couple of times. It does get little messy, but your hair will be strong and healthy. Thank you! I’m so happy I found this miraculous product!

We still wanted to try even received damaged pack and got very bad result. Stated dark brown, but in reality got very light and weird brown to barely cover few gray hairs. Not worth more than $1.We used to use another brand but now can't find it on Amazon anymore. Don't buy this.

Love this henna dye, so easy to use, doesn't smell too strongly, the color is great too have gotten this multiple times, it's my go to hair dye

Removal of one star because the mixture is potentially allergenic. This henna-indigo mixture was easy to prepare and apply for buildable, natural color. Note that the instructions are scant. I chose this product because its ingredient list is short: henna, indigo, and colorless henna. I wanted to avoid PPD, a common dye oxidizer and potent allergen. Unfortunately, this product still triggered an allergic reaction a couple hours later (I had no response with the skin patch test). The skin under and around my eyebrows became inflamed and intensely itchy; even after washing away the tint repeatedly with Cetaphil and then Vaseline, the intense itchiness did not fully subside until five days later; the eyebrow region skin flaked off on day seven.

Excellent product! My hair had greys, some green and blond and brown leftovers from previous dyes. I mix it up 2 packages with a cup and a half of water and i added 3 tablespoons of aloe powder For the water: i used liquid coffee that also i boiled in it like 2 teaspoons of clove powder and then strained. Let it rest for about an hour and apply for first time. My hair didn’t fell off as usual after washing, it is so shinny and feels at touch more healthier. It has been like 4 days ago and the smell still in my hair like an herbal tea smell. The color is beautiful, a little read,purple where the blond was, greys 75% gone I love it I recommend it I will purchase again

It covered my gray hair . But I also had a terrible reaction after doing the color test with no problem .

I’ve been needing to find a non toxic solution to color my (stubborn) grays. I don’t have a lot but they’re so noticeable with dark hair. :( I read the reviews and thought I’ll try it. Did have to hunt down the directions, the box did not come with them. AND the directions are kinda vague, literally no measurement but I mixed water in portions to get the consistency I thought they meant. Haha Go figure. And then I just applied like any other color, the brush that comes with it, has a squatty handle but it was fine. I do have another application brush I may use next time. I also did use my own gloves as well as some leftover color blocker to apply to my hairline. I do have stubborn grey so I left it in for an hour at least, due to what other folks said. Washed it out - cleaned up the sink and shower, it splattered a bit as I was applying but it did come off floor and sink and shower but I’d clean it up right away. NOTE: this pic was taken the next day, my grays would be in the hairline and I DO have leftover highlights. It’s been about 10 days and so far so good but I am leery of how long it’ll last. But it covered grays, no toxic chemicals!!! I’m trying not to wash too often - dry shampoo!!! 😅 But seriously I was very pleasantly surprised with the results!!!
