Nice unit. So many submenus it's hard to navigate.
First unit sent to me was bent. Looked like it happened at the factory. But the unit sent to me was not packaged well. Stuck into a plastic UPS bag, so only the OEM packaging protected it. We get toothbrushes packaged better than that. Sent it back. It got lost. Took 3 weeks to get a refund, but finally did. Purchased another one and it did come well packaged.Installed in my '88 E30 vert with help from a shop. Fits perfectly. Only issues I have is (1) price (but I suspect it's a low volume unit so... ) and (2) that Blaupunkt didn't created a US version with HD radio. Only DAB, which is European. But I usually use Bluetooth so it's not that big a deal. BT connected quickly with a strong connection. Colors match the stupid BMW red LEDs. All in all, after biting my lip at the price for about 2 weeks, I'm happy I got it. Better that then the money I would have had to spend fixing my 30 year old OEM radio.

Nice unit but the funcitonality of DAB is wasted in the USA

Excellent period replacement
High Blaupunkt quality… looks like it was made in the 80’s but functions like a modern unit with Bluetooth and USB connections… DAB feature a waste in the U.S.fits perfectly and looks like stock in my 1986 Porsche 928

Great device but overpriced
There's not a lot of competition for this thing, so they're able to charge a premium price. Is it worth it? Well, that's up to you to decide. Is it nice? Absolutely. I installed this unit in my gray market Citroen XM, and it fits perfectly, both literally and figuratively. It looks every bit the part of a 1990 car stero, while still adding bluetooth streaming, BT phone audio, and SD card functionality. It's great to be able to listen to my 90s playlist while still getting Google Maps instructions over the sound. This unit is a nice upgrade from the Bremen they were selling last year. I have one of those in my other Radwood-era car, and this one feels much higher quality. The knobs don't wiggle around like they do in the Bremen, the buttons feel "clickier" and firmer, and the display is crisper. It all but disappears in direct sunlight, but isn't that what 90s decks did? I'll spare that criticism since it seems era-appropriate.If your goal is to stream Depeche Mode on your way to a Radwood meetup, this thing is perfect. Whether you agree with the $500 pricetag is up to you. Overpriced? I sure think so, but I bought it anyways.

Great radio
Using this in a 1997 F250 for a more retro look and absolutely love it.

Lasted 6 months. Terrible sound quality and random shutoffs. Warranty is only 90 days!
I bought 2 of these because of the looks that match the BMW E36 interior style. From the start, Bluetooth in calls was horrible with background noise. Internal amp is very weak. It barely handled a pair of 5.25 speakers and a pair of 4 inch rears. Menus are complicated, and after 6 months, one of the units randomly shuts down by itself. Warranty is only 90 days. So bye bye 500 bucks that I paid for this garbage.

Blietooth Nearly Useless, cheap build quality.
Bluetooth audio for music is poor, even if using an external amplifier. Using USB improves it, so it's definitely an issue with Bluetooth implementation.Bluetooth calls are such low quality, you can barely understand what the person on the other end is saying.I had to return the first unit because one of the buttons would stick. The buttons are cheap click type on top of that, i was surprised to not have soft membrane type buttons at the price range.I bought this radio because it was the only retro styled radio I could find with modern features like Bluetooth. But Bluetooth is hardly usable, so it completely fails in that regard. Insane for a $515 dollar product.
