Boil & Bite Mouth Guard/Gum Shield – Mouldable Mouthguard/gumshields - CE Approved, School Sports, Rugby, Hockey, Boxing, GAA, Martial Arts

Ordered late at night and it arrived the very next day. Fantastic service especially considering the postage is included in this amazingly low price of around £3.50 ( I think mine was reduced to £3.20 ).The instructions are very clear but to add a little more detail you simply drop it in water that is from a boiled kettle and has been left for a few minutes. Don't use water that is simmering in a pan or is actually at boiling point. Leave in this recently boiled water for exactly 40 seconds. Pluck out of the water with a set of tongs or something, quickly shake off the loose water ( to avoid burning the gums ) then quickly pop it on the top set of teeth and bite hard ( but not right through ( and suck all the saliva away as hard as possible whilst simultaneously pressing against the back of the gumshield with the tongue and pressing against the outside of the gumshield with a clean index finger.Mine was slightly loose so I had to repeat the process.The instructions state quite clearly that if you have to repeat the process just dip it in the same water for ten seconds.I chose yo ignore the instructions and put it in for another fourty seconds. The gumshield lost all of the shape I had initially moulded and had actually shrunk a fair bit. I was lucky to get away with it it fitting successfully this time. That was my fault.I recommend ordering at least two gumshields in case of accidental moulding problems. At this price why not.Over two decades ago I used these cheap gumshields for kickboxing and I would not consider paying a lot of money for one when these work so well. Nor would I consider one of those fancy coloured ones ( especially red ) as it makes it difficult for the ref or the teacher to see if the mouth is bleeding.The people who are giving bad reviews because they are "not soft enough" don't understand that a gumshield is not supposed to Cussion the teeth, it is merely to stop the lower teeth from smashing against the upper teeth if you are unlucky enough or careless enough to get hit on the jaw with your mouth open. Also to help prevent you biting through your tongue.They need to be strong not soft.Also most people giving a low rating are saying it's not suitable as a night time teeth grinding guard.It's not designed for that. It's even called a "Game Guard". Teeth move at night even for fully grown adults and I don't think they should be fixed in place with a sports gumshield. I am quite sure that there are special gum guards recommended by dentists for this purpose.Just one more thing. Many of the reviewers were saying that they had bought one for their child or teenager.They need to be aware that these should be remoulded (10 seconds in recently boiled water ) before every single use. These gumshields are very tight fitting and will push back teeth that are trying to grow and change shape.

Bought this for 10 year old’s school hockey, good value, nice product, helpful instructions emailed from the retailers as well as being in the carry case. Daughter liked the blue sparkly look, was fine with fitting it- says it is a little uncomfortable but this type of gum shield will never fit as well as a professional dentist-made (expensive) one, so recommended if your child’s school suggests it and they only need one for a short length of time.(If you are not sure if they really need one at all and didn’t play it at school, girls’ hockey can get pretty brutal, so it is worth it, plus shin pads and protective gloves too.)

Great fit once he got it moulded to his mouth. He feels it is a little big for his mouth (he’s 11) but out of the 5 different mouth guards I bought before we realised you can mould them to your specific mouth, this one is the subsequent winner!

Did no one read flavored mouthguard and I tried it and it’s not even a bit flavoured also it’s made my gum bleed because it has not fit I would look for a different one but it’s not the worst

This item came and it looked sound .. followed the instructions which was easy enough to follow .. but it did not work .. reapeated again like it says to and it did not work and looked even more of a mess .. I do exactly what the instructions said with timers also .. disaster it was won’t even stay in the mouth

After spending £17-£20 on other types of gumshields last year, we decided to try this version at a fraction of the cost. We couldn't believe how easy it was to mould and re-mould. We'll certainly be stocking up on these gumshields for the football/rugby and hockey seasons.

I bought it for my son for his kickboxing class. Easy to use with good instructions on remoulding [Make you to follow the instruction for proper fit] for a perfect fit. This product offers great value for its price.

Good price, easily moulded to fit. Comfy and has good stability once moulded.
