Hi, Yes, It can focus a little futher. We focus it close in order to photo birds more clearly. We didn't recommend to use it as a security camera.

Q: Did the solar panel cable change recently because according to pictures and videos I've seen, there's a round solar panel cable to protect from water?

Mine is usb-c and a very tight fit. The antenna was screw on round

Q: How do I turn off the camera to replace the SD card or when I am going on vacation? Pressing and holding "On" button puts into pairing mode.

The power button is on the top of the camera, you can rotate the camera a bit harder to use the power button or the SD card slot.
