No, unfortunately the RAM is not expandable. It is soldered to the motherboard.

Would this work for a portable 3D workflow workstation? I need to run Maya, Sunstance painter and UE and would need to handle a lotnof system usage.

I don’t know details of the softwares you use, but this model has lot of crunching power and its fast, runs pretty smooth. Its very portable, good graphics, The only down size is it battery life if not on A/c power, battery would give you 45 mins to an hrs usage. You can a choice to add external battery if required
