Good value for money kit, but consider buying a few things more
Very good kit overall. Good quality equipment and nearly all that you need to successfully make a beer. I particularly liked the labels included - they make it look very professional. The intructions are clear and Amber Ale kit that comes with the equipment produces nice quality beer. What is worth mentioning is that there are some grains included, which is not typical of beginner kits, but helps to learn and doesn't make the whole thing much harder.Few things to consider: buy a hydrometer to make sure you know when the fermentation is finished. Mine wasn't finished after 14 days, the time suggested by the instructions.Buy a few termometers to check the temperature of the wort in a kettle or in a fermenter.Remember to aerate the wort at least slightly and rehydrate the yeast included - it helps them to start off the fermentation much more smoothly.Remember this is 5 US GALLONS bucket, which is approx.19L. UK kits often are designed for 23L, so bear in mind that sometimes you may have to reduce the volume slightly or deal with an ovewhelming amount of foam flowing from the airlock. When I had this situation, I replaced an airlock with a hose pipe included and put the other end of it in a sterilised flask of water.Having that in mind, this is still a very comprehensive kit, I doubt if any of those available have absolutely everything included for a reasonable price such as £65.

Brewer best kits - American Amber Ail Pail
The media could not be loaded. Fun experience, as a person I’m better following visual instructions, so went to their website to follow each steps. You must follow the instructions to the “T” or you will end up will an unpleasant taste, so the day you decide to brew, you must dedicate your entire day making/ brewing beer as it will take 4 to 5 hours solid.I will suggest getting a thermometer for checking the “cooking temperature and a hydrometer to calculate the ABV based on gravity change. If you took an original gravity reading (or had estimated OG), and also took a final gravity (FG) reading prior to adding priming sugar at bottling you can find out your batch's alcohol by volume ABV. ABV at the beginning and the end (which I completely missed). The over all taste is malty Amber Ale which tasted ok, I’m more of a citrusy refreshing beer fun, but this kit is perfect start for your home brewing experience.

Great brewing experience
When this product arrived I didn't expect to actually have to brew my own beer by boiling the grains and hops together then mixing it all together, although this sounds like a lot of work I loved it and it made the experience so much better than just grabbing a bag of malt extract and pouring it in some water which is what I expected tbh. I'm this kit arrived before my other kit as this kit is so much better and I enjoyed brewing so much that I will do it again for sure, I may even experiment and make something really unique. My brew is currently bubbling away in my garage :)

Really good starter kit from Northern Brewer
Straight forward even for beginners. One frustrating thing though and I noticed this in other review is that I got 2 bottling buckets both with holes and only 1 spigot when I should have got 1 fermenting bucket with no hole & 1 bottling bucket...😡 easily sorted I just went and bought extra spigot but they should put correct equipment that is specified in description, could be confusing for newbies. The brewing kettle is a big plus in this kit.Overall good kit and just started brewing the beer that came with it so looking forward to finished productAlso check Norhern Brewer you tube channel, really good video to go with this kit 😊

Great Result
Tasted my first home-brew beer this weekend and I was really pleased with how it turned out! Only thing to add is be prepared to spend a bit more money than just this on things like bottles, thermometers and maybe a hydrometer - but all in all a great starter kit and I would recommend.

Great kit, good beer
If instructions had advised me to take original gravity reading so I could work out APV would have been useful but not a big deal. Great kit made lovely beer

It arrived with two identical buckets and noone of them ...
It arrived with two identical buckets and noone of them had a hole to assemble the spigot so I guess I have to open one by myself and hopefully I will not destroy it. The rest was as described.

Good starting brewer's kit
The package arrived quickly (faster than estimated date). There are no missing pieces and everything seems to be of good quality. This is probably the most complete starter kit I've found basically only missing an hydrometer, a thermometer, and empty bottles.I haven't brewed the kit yet but I'll edit this review when I do.Edit: Now that I've brewed, bottled, and drank the beer I can that this is a good starting kit. I used the oven top to boil the wort and it took quite a long time which is to be expected for eating 2 gallons of water. I made a few rookie mistakes by using to much the video instead of the actual instructions. The actual finished beer ended up being a light red ale with a fruity aroma and a bitter aftertaste. Quite a decent beer and friends and co-workers quite like it.

Great First Brewing Experience!
The recipe kit and all the other components are well thought-out and make it easy for a beginner. The instructions offer tips for preparation as well, which is super helpful. Lots of videos on their channel to help with the process and the beer itself turned out great! I got 32 x 500ml bottles out of it.It's a shame the recipe kits aren't available from any retailers in Canada and NB doesn't (currently) ship here. I would brew the Block Party Amber again if I could get my hands on it (without travelling to the US or setting up with a forwarder). Cheers, NB!

Works.. but..
This is a great kit to get you started with home brewing. However, there are a few things that irk me about it. For starters, the lids on the buckets are air-tight(as they should be) but they do not provide a tool to open said lid and it's a huge pain in pry it off without damaging the bucket. Secondly, the instructions are indeed beginner friendly but I feel it should be a little more in-depth during the preparation for fermenting process. Especially during the transferring procedure. Thirdly, why give bottle caps but no bottles? The kit is great overall, and I would recommend it. However, as stated above, they could have done a few things a little better.

Cheap set, works perfectly fine.
I am really satisfied with the set. It's really easy to use has all of the instructions and ingredients to make really basic first time beer batch. One of the only problems with this set is beer caps. A lot of them didn't fit properly while I was using 4 different kinds of bottles a lot of them didn't close properly also There were supposed to be 60 beer caps but in reality there was only 48. So before you start brewing your first beer check the actual count of beer caps because you need at least 60 bottles to put your 5 gallons of beer.
