I purchased this package of tumbled lava rock for my Ammo Can Fireplace. I like that the rocks are round and pretty uniform in size. This prevents them from compacting around the burner between uses, leaving plenty of room for the gas to spread and burn. They glow red as the fire heats them, and they retain heat after the gas is shut off.

I like that these little ceramic blobs look like real charcoal briquettes - it makes gas or propane fires look more "real," IMHO. But the best thing about them, I think, is that they dramatically increase the amount of heat that your propane-fuelled fire pit puts off. I hope they last long enough to make their price worth it, lol - time will tell.

Purchased these for our Ignik Firecan. They fit perfectly in the can and over the burner. Flames disperse nicely. A bit pricey for the ambiance, but certainly provides a nice show in our Firecan and campsite.

Was a great size for use in my antique gas heater.

Looks like real rocks, lightweight, I use it for my ammo box fire pit for camping.

These "rocks" are light as a feather. When the box was delivered and it weighed about as much as a box of Wheaties, I thought, "Did they deliver the wrong product?" But these actually weight next to nothing, so mystery solved. I'm adding to my fireplace little by little - who knew a bunch of rocks were so expensive. And these are actually relatively inexpensive, compared to what's out there.They do look nice - at least they will when I'm actually finished filling this space. I may do a layer of fireplace glass on top of the lava, and then put these decorative rocks on top. As tempting as it is to just buy some cheap river rocks, or go outside and find some, you need to make sure that anything you're going to burn is designed for that type of heat. And these are designed for up to 1000 degrees Celsius, so they should definitely do the trick.

Posted a photo for size reference. These are very lightweight and feel almost hollow. I would not drop them because they seem like they would break. Putting them on top of some fire glass. Attractive stones.
