Highly recommended for teachers
I have been using it now for a year. I am a teacher and I need to trim worksheets for my students every week. I feel like the blade is not as sharp anymore and it folds the papers sometimes instead of cutting them. But with good technique I usually avoid that. I do not need the worksheets to be cut to a certain size so I do not need to worry about that. I feel like for someone that works trimming books and the like might not be as precise. It also allows me to trim a large amount of papers as advertised on one go. And I bought this guillotine because this is the only one that mentioned that was able to trim such a large amount (I believe it said 30 sheets), so what is in the ad is true. This saves a lot time. Also the size is perfect for my desk and it's heavy enough so as not to slide over the surface but easy to move around. I really like this guillotine and with practice, I think anyone could use it with accuracy. Highly recommend it.

Excellent!
As a greeting card designer i've been through a fair few paper cutter's and trimmers. This is by far the best one i've had. The blade self sharpens, and the cuts are clean with no fraying or tearing. Very sturdy and quite heavy. Feels a lot more expensive than it was.

Fine - if you don't want to cut things square.
The example we received was fatally flawed. The alignment grid was misaligned by 2mm over the length of 30cm, so that nothing could be trimmed to a right angle. I have given it 1 star for accuracy and "ease of use" - since with a great deal of difficulty it would be possible to quite separately produce my own right angle alignment grid, properly align it to the blade, etc, etc - but you don't pay £47 for that kind of faffing about. That's a pity because otherwise the machine was of good quality, sturdy and sharp. And fine if you just want to make random cuts. We had to return it, and didn't have time to mess around trying a second sample. The company who makes it needs to try some quality control.

Sturdy and sharp
A good weight (not too heavy to manoeuvre but heavy enough to stay in place while cutting) & sharp. Cuts cleanly through multiple pages and cardboard. Safety lock is sturdy so won’t accidentally slip when moving. About 1 cm too small if you’re planing to cut a full a3 lengthways but great for smaller sizes. Can cut a signature of 10 (ie 20 pages) but I doubt you’d get anything thicker under the guard Grids not perfect (about 1mm off from the top and bottom) but accurate enough for a home project. Just be sure to have something consistent to line a signature against if you’re using this for bookbinding. Clearly a return as box has obviously been opened before but I can’t see anything wrong with the product

Cuts straight
I purchased this to replace another item which I was not happy about the blade was bending when cutting so it wasn't straight. This 1 is brilliant the blade cuts without bowing away from the counter blade it has good safety features light weight but very sturdy

Perfect for vinyl
Wanted a guillotine that would be sharp enough to cut heat transfer vinyl not just paper - this one did the trick! Read reviews about the measurements being off by a few mm - I didn't check this out as it doesn't really affect me as I cut vinyl in a straight line and a little more than I usually need so sharpness over complete accuracy was my main concern. The plastic guard is stationary so I couldn't move it, so had to feed the vinyl through it - which was fine for me. Very sturdy board and a solid guillotine - definitely handle with care! For all those t-shirt makers who need something quick and sharp that can cut through vinyl - this guillotine will do it. :-)

Good weight, excellent quality, some parts are fragile.
Good quality and heavy enough. Unfortunately after some time of heavy usage one side of plastic which you keep paper on place stuck and when pressed broke off so now is slightly loose so cutting paper require more precision and attention to not broke the other side. Used for 80gsm and 120gsm paper and easily cut 5 sheets of both. Used on my working bench so rubbers do a good job and hold trimmer on one place.

I've used a few times and it cuts well. Used to cut 12mil magnetic sheet.

everything was great. but the blade is already blunt after daily use for 2 weeks. so i am unable to say that it is value for money. i suppose it can still be useful for light use. but for me, i have already wasted a lot of paper for my stacked cuts. i need to get another to replace this.
