.... A must have : for egyptologists new & old ....
.... pharaonic classic . especially with the HD release .... and I was surprised I was able to watch it because this item is labeled as Region: -paRegion B/2 , which in theory my bluray would not be able to read ... actually I found it very emotional : reviving how the boy - pharaoh was betrayed and his legacy was removed from all site ... thanks God ... burial robers never finded that TREASURE ... before Sir Howard Carter almost a century ago (1922) in the sacred valley ...

TuT TV mini-series bites Hollywood's Asp!
Because the Muppets at Amazon couldn't wait for a careful considered review, (when we actual;ly viewed the DvD), you've got this "temporary holding pattern" feedback! We immensely enjoyed this Spike Network mini-series when aired earlier this year on the MovieMix Channel on UK Freeview TV - nice to see a "small screen" production wipe the floor with Hollywood in the Epic Historic Drama catagory! So we Purchased this DvD for viewing over the Christmas Holidays, (when there's far too many repeats on Terrestial TV anyway!).as the Christmas Holidays obviously haven't arrived yet-!!!!

Good fun and lavish visuals
If you like films about ancient Egypt and aren't hung up on historical details, this is very entertaining. For obvious historical reasons, this cannot be historically accurate, regarding the plot, but it is a nice "what if" story. The sets and costumes are breath-taking and the human relationships drive the plot. It felt very real in a fairy tale sort of way. The actors are beautiful and some of the more experienced actors give it some depth.

DON'T BOTHER!
Totally abysmal film. The editing seem to leave out so many scenes that I thought this two disc set should have been three. At the end of the first disc you were left with a situation which was totally ignored in the second disc. Characters appeared and characters disappeared with no explanation. Ben Kingsley must have done it for the money, there can't be any other reason why he would be associated with this rubbish. Look elsewhere for good entertainment

I liked it!
I saw this on the telly a while back, and I really liked and enjoyed it.Ben Kingsley is reliable as ever, and all the cast do a pretty good job on the whole. The production values are pretty high which helps a lot, and the scripts are not terrible either.Bought this on impulse as it languished in one of my wish lists, and then the price dropped!Recommended.

One of the best tv series about Pharaoh Tutankhamun
One of the best tv series I have seen so far about ancient Egypt and the life of Tutankhamun. Tut is portrayed as close to the true person as possible with some dramatic war & love scenes and also try to explain why he was put in an inferior tomb when he died.I loved this film and recommend it warmly.
