This works
I have dogs so cannot use anything with chemicals, so decided to give these a try. I admit I wasn’t confident based on some of the reviews & the amount of snails we have in our garden. I need not have worried, these worked straight away, the only issue is you do need quite a lot & I’m now finding you need to top up after a few months. They are quite expensive but for me worth the money to know my dogs & wildlife are safe.

They work
Ideal for protecting seedlings, used them for years and they work.

Good but they don't go very far
They work well as long as you put the pellets on a thick layer and water them well, so they firm a mat. But you do need to use quite a lot per plant and the 5 litre tub doesn't go that far. I got these when they were £20.20 for 10 litres which was a good price, but they have since gone up a lot.

Doesn't work, better off buying nematodes..
The media could not be loaded. Creates a nice carpet but the slugs don't mind it. My plants have been destroyed this year and I regret not using nematodes, which is what I used last year.

It works, it's brilliant
We have an infestation of slugs and snails, they are everywhere in their thousands and they are huge, we also have hedgehogs. So it's been the choice of vegetables or hedgehogs (never being able to be barefoot at night) for years since we cannot put poison down. I can go out and easily kill a hundred every night and it's never put a dint in the numbers.Until this and for once I have peas that lasted the night! My beetroot is still there! It's easy to apply, just put out a handful evenly, give it a watering and it fluffs up and your plants are secured. It's not particulary dusty and the pellets don't crumble and turn into a mess.Happy days, happy plants, happy me. Will buy again.Okay so the immediate area of the garden around it smells of wet sheep, but I'll live with it.Edit, an absolute deluge started as I was finishing transplanting seedlings so I ran inside instead of applying the pellets. The seedlings were all gone by morning. GrrrrrrrEdit again, I'm having to keep the wool pellets covered with a net because the woodpidgeons keep stealing it for their nests. I had to net them anyway but it was really doing my head in trying to figure out where it all went, I knew I'd put the pellets down and did a better job than what I was seeing. Bloody buggers were down as soon as I went inside and stripping everything I'd juist put down.

Vitax Slug Gone Natural Wool Barrier Pellets Slug & Snail Control,
These slug pellets have only been down for a few weeks around my new pot plants but they haven't been eaten so far so am keeping my fingers crossed for a good outcome this year!!! I have used quite a few because I figured I've bought them and I want to protect the plants so others may not use as much as I have!!!They are expensive but came recommended by a BBC Radio presenter who said 'they were the only ones that worked for her!!' I have a pest control box right by these flowers and there were 13 snails and 2 huge slugs in it, what can I say the smell was enough to put them off as well as the feel of the wool.

This really seems to work!
Used to protect pots of plants organically from slug damage over summer.
