Editing my review as i realized it was not the pump but something else causing issues. We have fixed it and pump is working great.This pump has been nothing but trouble. It's a pain to out together, instructions are not good. Most of the time I was winging it hoping I was doing it correctly. Got it hooked up but in order to clean skimmer basket you have to unkook the hose coming from pool other wise it will just pour out once you loosen the cap. Tried to put a valve there but it wasn't air tight so pump didn't run right. Hose is hard to get back on without leaking. When it works it does work good.

We needed a small inexpensive pump for our small pool and it works great. For the price we paid it’s worth it and there’s no noises. Has a strong flow and might suck up small children if left unattended. Overall it’s durable and fits the pool perfect

The media could not be loaded.  Update 5.28.24 if your pump leaks near the motor you'll need a 301-15 mechanical seal. After a week I received the part number from the vendor. Good luck finding the part locally. See attached video for installation steps. The vendor should have this information attached to the product. I had to email for a week to gather this information and that's pretty sad.I use this pump for one summer and then it became leaky. I found out that the leak was due to the master seal and reached out to the company for replacement seal. I have been going back and forth with them for about a week now trying to figure out the product number for the seal used in the pump. The people answering the phone in the customer service department are completely useless. And if you try to email you'll get a response like every 72 hours. My pool pump has been down for about a week now and all I need is the part number for the seal so that I can check my local pool store to see if they have one available. The company offers no diagram on how to take the pool pump apart and put it back together You have to reach out to tech support via email and wait on a response that takes two to three days.. excuse my spelling I'm driving and using voice to text but my experience with getting support for this pump has been horrible.

Luckily I have set up a sand filter before because instructions were very lacking. Pump is pretty strong. Not sure I am getting 3500 GPH through it, but certainly quite a bit more than the old Intex 1500 GPH system. You need 100 lb of filter sand for 16" filter. If attaching to above ground system, will need adapters. 40mm Hose to 1 1/2 Inch hose adapters if using the bigger Intex style hoses.I have 2 inlets from pool and one outlet. I did add a T and a waterfall kit just to make sure I had no output restriction.Main problem: If you have a power failure, it does not (as far as I can tell) start back up at that point and must be manually started. That can certainly be an issue and all my old ones would at least start back up with programmed run times. Power glitch on vacation, or have an inline chlorine generator and that makes it a problem.

The media could not be loaded.  I have struggled for years to keep my pool clean but this sand filter changed that I wish I would have discovered it sooner. It has so many options for timers so that it can automatically shut off. The price was great I would have paid more if I would have known how it would make my cleaning so much easier. The flow is great you can see the ripples in the water as it renters the pool. The suction is great! My pool water is so clear! It is so quiet. It was so easy to set up.

The instructions were difficult to follow. You are better off seeing the video than trying to understand the instructions. I purchased this filter to replace the one that came with my above ground pool. It took me awhile to connect it because the new filter does not have all of the necessary connectors that you might need to connect to the pool. Once it was all connected, I noticed that there was a leak on the hose that connects the pump to the filter container. After many attempts to tighten and stop the leak I realized that the grey hose had a small cut and that is where the water was leaking from. A replacement hose should correct the leak, but I agree with other comments that it was poor quality.

Ok for everyone out there, is not a Hayward.That said it is a good little set up for the price. I wanted something to get me theough the season. I didn't have any problems with leaks except as you would expect for a plumbing operation. If you know how to use Teflon tape you will not have problems.The pump has been running straight for 2 months without issues. Like others I think the flow is a little less than the rating, but more than adequate. I can use a vacuum, albeit my old set up sucked better.I would buy it again.I have a 24 Foot round above ground. I replaced a hayward knock off sand/pump that couldn't get parts for anymore.

Wow bigger than I thought. Looks great. Can't wait to use it.

Seems to be working the way it would.

Been installed now for just two weeks but so far this unit works really well, very happy. Like others, it took some time to get the right adaptors and fittings to connect it all up. Assuming it continues to function as it has, this is great value. Assembly is very straightforward assuming you’ve already had a pump and filter before.

This pump is obviously very powerful, and I was really excited to use it for our pool. It took a lot of work and extra parts to get setup, and the seals are very finicky requiring multiple re-adjustments. I finally got it running without leaks or issues but the headache wasn’t over! It’s sprung a leak in the wall of it! Terrible waste of money and time
