I bought this feeder after my PetSafe feeder conked out after 6 years. I was looking for something similar but less expensive; I didn’t want anything that pairs with a phone. I also needed the feeding tray to be big enough for my basset hound and to hold a lot of food. This fit the bill! I have used it for a week and so far it’s great. It always feeds on time (clock hasn’t shown to be slow yet like my old one) and it’s easy to set up. You can record a message for feeding time but I have not used that function. It has a sleeker design than my last one and takes up less space. Adjusting the time after daylight saving time ended was super easy.The only con I have noticed is that the portion size is really inconsistent. As others have suggested, you should manually dispense the portions to see how many you need at each feeding. I noticed that even with the inconsistency in portion size, about 14-15 portions was equal to 1 cup in my dog’s food. It will dispense a maximum of 30 portions per meal, which makes sense if it was designed to dispense about 2 cups.So far I’m a big fan and I would recommend this product.

I wanted to do my 1st review the day I received the Feeder to talk about the Setup. It was very easy to set up. When you receive the Feeder, this is what you should do for an easy setup:1) Unpack the unit and remove all the items from inside the locking lid.2) Open the pamphlet / manual to expose the BAR CODE.3) SCAN the BAR CODE to view the Setup VIDEO.4) The lady on the Video talks quickly, so I advise you to PAUSE after Each Instruction (Step) before moving on to the next Step. This makes the Setup a lot easier.5) After completing the Setup (Time and Portion Settings) Do Not LOCK it YET.6) Do your recording (if you choose to record a message). The sound of the recording is very clear.7) FILL the Bucket with your pet food and attach the bowl. I don't think the bowl Locks in place so it's easy to remove for cleaning. (I personally like that).8) TEST the Portion Size (Upper Right Button) by pushing it once quickly. That will be "1" portion.Push it a 2nd time to see what "2" portion amounts look like adding it to the 1st portion amount. And so on. This will help you decide how many portions to set for each feeding time. (Up to 30 portions).9) When everything is done, you can choose to LOCK the settings if you think that is necessary. UNLOCK it when you need to make changes to your settings (Time, Portion, Recording).It was very easy and quick to do this setup with the Video. Good luck!I will do a follow up Review later on after I see how good it performs.I love this because my cat eats too fast and throws up if she eats too much, so I set it for "1" portion for 6 feedings (4 hours between feedings). This is how I had set up my old feeder and it worked perfectly for her. It's great weight control also.

Feeder works very well. I set it to dispense food for my goat while I was on vacation. She had a couple of full bales of hay but I wanted her to get some grain while were out. This did the trick! and when the voice goes off they know they're about to get fed while were home we don't use it for that, but we can put the catnip treats in it instead. My only complaint is how long it takes to figure out the feed setting we settled I think it was 23 or 24 something like that for a cup of feed a day. So, we had to keep running it to make sure it rounded out the right weight.

I recently purchased the automatic cat\dog feeder and I couldn't be happier. My girlfriend purchased two of them for her cats and they are very handy if we leave for the weekend. I rescued 3 baby raccoons earlier this year and I wanted to do a slow release back into the wild. The feeder allows me to set the feeding time late at night and gives me the option of choosing up to 7 feedings per day. Since I never know when they will show up I set the time every hour and I get to choose how much is dispensed each hour. The settings were easy to figure out and it also allows me to make a recording of my voice. The raccoons have not been afraid of it at all. Even when food comes out while they are eating. I would recommend this to anyone who has pets but can't be at home to feed them all the time. Also perfect for pets who are needing to lose weight. It's simple to use at a great price
