I was disappointed that the unit did not ship with the remote, I only saw the small box without any remote. I however took everything out of the box and found the missing remote tucked inside the packaging. It paired up quickly on the iPhone XS and will snap the picture if the camera is active. I will give it a test run during a class and give more on how far it works. The tripod adaptor is just ideal and fit the phone as stated by the Seller. Item is plastic but with light use expect it to work fine for most casual use. It is a 'smart' buy from Amazon.Update1-Feb-2019Used this over a 3-day period and it was great and the remote worked perfectly. The tripod is made of plastic and easily worked to hold my iPhone XS and my friends XS Plus size phone. The holder is rigid and will keep the phone secure but make sure your tripod head can make the minor adjustments to handle alignment (mine has a small ball head).For the remote, it paired up automatically with the Bluetooth setting on the phone. The slide on the side turns it on and off so remember to turn it off to prevent accidental shots. I was able to use in a large room about 20-ft away from the tripod. Works the phone for photo or video, it is just like touching the phone. I plan on putting a paint dot on the 'on' side as it is hard to read which is the on/off position.This model from Jansite Direct is a great buy and I recommend it to anyone wanting remote and a solid phone mount.

Looking for a quick solution for an event, this tripod mount seemed to fit the bill. The remote paired very quickly and without hassle on my iPhone 8 plus. Activating the shutter or starting and stopping video worked perfectly from the remote. The clamp is solid enough to hold my phone even with the protective phone case on. The mount is made of plastic and mounted to my Bogen tripod. While other reviews criticize the lack of rigidity, the only issue I can see is is if the tripod and this mount sat on a surface subject to strong vibrations, or if is being handled often. Once set, the remote gives most users a hands off experience. While the mount could be more sturdy, it's sub $10.00 cost that includes a remote makes it perfect for infrequent use or for people who aren't interested in spending a lot of money. If this is something you would use daily or in demanding circumstances, perhaps a more solid mount made of a stronger metal might be your choice. But for what most people require for the occasion, the low price point and value it delivers gives this high marks for general use.

I got this to Zoom a ceremony to those who couldn't attend. It held my large phone perfectly and was easy to use. I like that you have to turn a nob to tighten the arm to hold the phone rather than have it be a spring which could theoretically clamp too tight. The remote was super easy to connect to my phone and worked great for snapping snapshots, or using for a video in the native iPhone app. The remote does "not" work with the Zoom app, so you have to start and stop that manually. Oh, there is a small physical on/off switch on the side of the remote. I thought the remote was useless at first, but then discovered the On switch. hehe. The whole thing is great, but it is bulky to carry around. I have seen others that fold flat and tip out to hold the phone. That one was more expensive and did not come with a remote, but it sure is easy to stick in a pocket or bag unlike this one. Nonetheless, this was a good purchase.

This product was very easy to use. Physical setup takes just a minute. Downloading the app and setting it up to remotely take pictures only takes a few minutes and was very easy. The app is great and offers lots of features in addition to taking the picture with the remote. For our photo shoot, we used this mount to hold an iPhone 10s on a tripod and take backup pictures remotely, it worked perfectly and kept us from touching, shaking and moving the phone so we had the exact same perspective on each shot. It also fits our other sized iphones and Android phones. It is easy to adjust to many angles and feels sturdy and well made. Would be nice to have markings or even groves to lock it in place at significant angles like 45, 90, etc. The remote has a button for IOS and one for Android. Not sure why they need both, but it doesn't affect the user to have 2 buttons to choose from. The remote also has a power switch on the side so you can turn it off and save the little batteries when not in use. It appears the female-threaded components are brass, which is a high quality feature. I enjoyed using this product and recommend it.

This mount comes with its own remote control and it pairs super easy in seconds. Made of very hard plastic and I see it lasting forever. I posted a picture of one side that has little fit; those fit will lock on to the quick release and you will not be able to continue turning it to make it tite because that quick release is like a push button; once it gets inside, you will need to troubleshoot to get it out.. Since the mount has two sides, I used the opposite side which is perfectly flat in the bottom and you can rotate it as much as you need. The quick release will just push itself up and down as you are rotating the mount. I like it, perfect for me, I love the remote control; I was able to take my own pictures instead of asking my husband to take then for me.

Good ol reliable! Never caused me issues as a content creator and just works for how it is! The plus is it comes with a little selfie Bluetooth remote for taking photos which is a necessity for shooting alone 😁
