Bought this dress for a Sneaker Gala for the non profit I work for. Wanted something open in the front to show off the sneakers and this was perfect. I am 5'1 and about 125 pounds and this dress fit like a glove. Actually tried to get it shortened but the seamstress said it would be too difficult because of the hem. She thought it would look good as is and she was right. I got so many compliments and someone even asked how I found a dress that was the perfect length! Because it is open and shorter I'm the front, it only drags on the floor in the back and that is the style. It was also extremely comfortable- the fabric is stretchy and had some give. Because I was working at the event I had to do a lot of running around and even lifting and moving heavy objects and this dress did not hinder me at all. LOVE it!

Betsy & Adam consistently produces well made, beautiful gowns that fit without needing additional alterations. Just follow the sizing guide.The crepe material made the dress form fitting. The tiered ruffles added so much elegance and class. The split is a little high, but not too revealing. The dress features a gold zipper in the back for closure. I added a gold belt to accessorize; however, the dress was still beautiful without it. Lastly, I wore 3in heels and had no issues with the dress’ length.

Fits beautifully

The media could not be loaded. BUY THE DRESS Worth every penny. This was a size 8 and it fit perfect (5’5”, 135lb), athletic/curvy bottom build. I got so many compliments and felt very comfortable with the slit in the left thigh that wasn’t too high. The material is thick and stretchy yet comfortable to dance the night away! Shiny gold zipper in the back so I paired with gold jewelry and shoes.TIP: I bought an 8 petite from the designers actual website but the shoulder openings were too narrow. The designers website packed theirs better than the 8 regular shipped by Amazon. The Betsy Adam dress from Amazon was obviously identical but came very wrinkled and I almost returned it. There is plastic mesh boning under the edge of the ruffles that needed a quick steaming- they were folded in half in some areas. I used a hand held steamer with the shirt clamp around the edge and it came out just fine. So get a steamer or have it steamed by the dry cleaners if you don’t own one.

I wanted to love this dress, but I just couldn’t. The stitching on the back side of the slit is like hard pokey plastic and it STABS you as you put it on and try to wear it. I saw another review say the same and thought maybe it was being exaggerated. Here to report that it’s not exaggerated. I had literal deep scratches up my thigh I couldn’t believe it. Also the ruffles wouldn’t lay right, kind of looked inside out. The material they used to give the ruffles structure can work against the dress. Just not very impressed for the price.

Beautiful! Many compliments

I purchased this dress from a department store. It was stunning on, and I got compliments all night. It’s the perfect shade of red - a bright deep red like a cherry - and the slit is perfect for showcasing a sexy pair of heels. I’m 5’3” and had to wear 5” heels so it wouldn’t drag, as this dress cannot be hemmed easily because of the cut. Now here’s the bad part - there’s a support mesh up the length of the slit and back down the other side. At the top of the slit, these two pieces join. The dress is also fitted around the hips/legs at this point. I found that this material scratched the top of my thigh all day/night long, and I had scratches there the next morning where it had scraped the top layer of my skin off. If I had known, I would have put some type of body tape over it to create a barrier between the material and my leg. Other than that, the dress fit well and was really eye catching.

Sadly, I received this dress in size 6, the last one, with no tags attached and smelling strongly of perfume. I'm returning it.
