Would this be suitable for my 1 year old niece

My grandson was 2 when I bought this, so he had the necessary motor skills to use it. She would grow into it but really need to be walking well. It's a fun toy that forces the child's imagination to work. If your niece is a steady walker no problem, as it is just a stick with a head on it, if unsteady on her feet, then would leave it until she is steady. Hope that helps.
