I've had a good number of sleep pads and I could have saved money from their failures buying this instead. Having gotten familiar with the points of weaknesses with those pads, I'm relieved to own this pad. They must have gone to great lengths in it's creation.I did try the wide version but even with relatively wide shoulders and hips, it was more than I needed. I have gotten so used to minimalist sleep systems that the regular size is plenty. What I find interesting is how when I roll towards the edges, the pad doesn't pinch down, but instead is sort of pressing back, helping me to stay on. Cheap pads would pinch under pressure and slide away. I also notice when deflating the pad it doesn't feel like I might break the valve. I wondered if the materials on the inside might get damaged from rolling up the pad but it doesn't feel fragile under regular usage. I haven't checked but I'm going to guess they are backing their quality work with a decent warranty.The selling points made and points of many reviewers are all true as far as pack size, r-value, nylon quality, how to use.I would say that it could be tied down to smaller than the size of a one liter bottle but that's just to say that in it's stuff sack it's not solid and has some give to be able to fit around other items in a pack.I'm just short of 200lbs and I'm not bottoming out during regular use cases. I can hear the sound but it's a light ruffling and will not be much louder than any sounds of nylon rubbing against nylon.I go ultralight with as many items as possible–even going so far as sewing my own tent and backpack–and the weight and size is well worth the utility. It's also very comfortable sounder most circumstances I'm sure to capture some rest and be more ready for the challenges of the next day.It would have been great to have had this on certain trips when I was just inside the line of safety. I believe this will last me several years and with all things considered, the cost makes perfect sense.

I have tried everything to be warm while camping and backpacking. I finally decided to order this mat and I wish I would have a long time ago. I was so warm and toasty all night. I actually got too warm, which has never happened. I had to unzip my sleeping bag. If you are a cold sleeper, don’t hesitate to buy this miracle mat.

I avoided inflatable mattresses for years because I didn't want to deal with the hassle of leaks. But a couple of years ago, I decided a bit more comfort and warmth was worth the chance. Glad I did. The pad is a bit noisy if you move around a lot, but it packs smaller than a waffle pad. It's about the same weight. And it's way warmer and more comfortable. I'll take the much better sleep in trade for a tiny bit of anxiety.

This is a great sleeping pad, especially if you are a side sleeper, however, it is extremely slick so I kept sliding. I returned it as I may wait to order the wide. I also want to add a note that UPS lost the return, and not being able to find info on Amazon other than the normal return info, I panicked and reached out to En Wild who responded in a timely manner. In the end, I was able to find a phone number for a live Amazon rep. and everything was handled quickly and refund was given.

I’m an ultra lightweight backpacker - no extra weight AT ALL for me - and yet sleep quite cold, even on nights in the 50’s. Finding this mattress is such a blessing. When it got down into the 30’s my first night out with it, I stayed warmer than ever before! Those baffles really do work!! And I overcome any noise issues with my usual earplugs and a lightweight fleece blanket between mattress and tent floor.

The Therm-a-Rest NeoAir NXT Ultralight sleeping pad performed as expected during my trip. It kept me warm in temperatures down to around 45°F, and its lightweight design and compact pack size are definitely highlights—perfect if you’re prioritizing weight savings.However, I ended up returning it for a few reasons. For reference, I purchased the large size and am 5’11” and 205 pounds. Even with the larger size, the pad felt too small for me, and I didn’t get the comfort I was hoping for. Compared to other sleeping pads I’ve used, it was noticeably less comfortable, and it made quite a bit of noise anytime I shifted during the night.While it’s great for ultralight backpacking, I feel like adding just a few more ounces could get you a much more comfortable option. If weight and packability are your main priorities, it might be worth considering, but for me, the trade-offs weren’t worth it.

If you're about to hike a long trail, get this. Or get the short, or the wide, but get basically this. If you're going in the summer only, maybe get the non-xtherm. If you're more excited about your spreadsheet weights than backpacking, get a gossamer thin lite. If you're really going backpacking, get this one.
