Excellent Preparer for Deep Cleaning and Restoring Leather Surfaces
The Angelus Leather Preparer & Deglazer turned out to be far more effective than I expected. I bought it specifically for automotive leather restoration, and it has quickly become an essential part of my detailing process. If you want a clean, properly prepped surface before recoloring or conditioning, this product does exactly what it is supposed to do. I first used it on a leather steering wheel that had years of built-up oils, grime, and leftover conditioners that regular cleaners could never fully remove. The Preparer instantly lifted the residue and left the leather feeling clean, dry, and ready for restoration. The difference in surface texture before and after was noticeable. After deglazing, the recoloring products adhered much more evenly. I also used it on a leather car seat that had discoloration and glossy wear spots from daily use. This product removed the shiny layer and opened up the pores of the leather, which is exactly what you want before any treatment. It prepped the leather perfectly with minimal effort. A small amount on a lint-free cloth went a long way, and I could immediately see the leather returning to its natural, matte finish. An important part of my process is using a leather coloring balm to refresh the seats, and this Preparer is absolutely necessary before applying the balm. Without it, the balm never bonds as well and tends to sit on the surface instead of soaking in. With the Angelus Preparer, the coloring balm absorbs smoothly and evenly, and the results last significantly longer. The 5 oz bottle is the right size for several detailing projects. I was able to clean a steering wheel, a full leather seat, and still had product left for future touch-ups. It is strong enough to break down old finishes but controlled enough that it does not damage the leather when used properly. Overall, the Angelus Leather Preparer & Deglazer is a reliable, highly effective product for anyone restoring leather, especially in automotive interiors. It is now a permanent part of my process, and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants professional-level results when cleaning or recoloring leather surfaces.

Super Easy
This was my first time using this product. My plan was to stain some knife sheaths a darker color. It turned out far easier than expected. Product worked great. It removed the coating from the knife sheaths easily. When I applied the new stain, it went on easily as well with no blotchiness. I will buying this again!

Cleaning Alcohol
Worked well. Took a pair of hubs WHITE golf shoes he got as a gift. Read up on how to dye them black, after getting estimates of over $100 by shoe repair shop. Bought this, and black dye. Shoes turned out spectacular at the price of $45. The cleaning alcohol, the dye, and a wax. Now I have plenty to do a pair of boots.

Only brand I trust.
This is the only prep and deglazer I will ever use. It goes on smooth. Dries quickly and leaves no marks where it has been. The quality is unmatched. It also doesn't smell any worse than nail polish remover, thats a plus for me. Its super easy to use. 10/10 will purchase again.

Works well
Works quickly and well to remove the original sealant evenly and completely without damaging the leather.

Does the job, but there's better alternatives out there.
Works fine, but acetone works much better.

Don't try a leather product with out using this first!
This made all the difference as I was attempting to restore the vinyl on our boat seats. We will see how the paint lasts, but I tested where I used and didn't use this product and the new color adheres extremely well, repeals dirt, and after a week hasn't shown wear. I know it is not for marine use, so we will see what happens over time, but the initial quality is fantastic.

Works great!
Had a pair of repro WW2 boots that had been finished with a horrible plastic coating that just made cleaning, oiling and dyeing to a correct color impossible. Did a little research, and found this deglazer. Followed instructions and took my time - and I took a pair of boots that were considered a waste of money and trash, to great! It took that coating off and gave me a great pair of boots that are not only now usable for re-enacting and display, but a fantastic looking pair of boots to wear. Cannot recommend this deglazer enough.
