Game works fine
I wasn't happy that the game case and manual were covered in stickers from a CeX shop, (which ironically i could have got myself at any time, and cheaper) but the game thankfully was the most important thing and works fine. I tried to peel the sticker of the manual and case but weren't without causing more damage, so moved into another case which i had.

What a disappointment!!!
I have been a fan of Harry Potter since the first book was released, and enjoy playing the games with my daughter. We have them all, and they were getting better with each release…that was until The Goblet of Fire!! What is disaster!! Why on earth did they change the concept of the games? No longer can you run (and jump) around Hogwarts castle or the grounds and explore the environment. You can’t even go wherever you want to go on the screen…there isn’t a jump key so Harry, Ron and Hermione can’t even walk over a pebble, never mind get over a step if you’re not going exactly the right way down the path. It is very frustrating – and then you have to find all the shields etc. Basically, you find yourself wandering aimlessly around a huge expanse and getting totally lost and frustrated. It is such a shame because I was so excited to be finally able to play WITH my daughter as Harry and Hermione as we did battle together. All I can say is…if you enjoyed the previous Harry Potter games, this is NOTHING like them at all. The graphics are good and if you like this sort of game play then ok…but if you are a Harry Potter fan, and a fan of the Harry Potter games – LOOK OUT!! You might be as disappointed as me (and my daughter). It may be slightly truer to the film but even the Tri-Wizard tasks are a disappointment: Task one, instead of what could have been a potentially exiting battle between Harry and the Horntail dragon…well it’s just Harry on his broom and he just has to fly fast to the end…how dull!! No egg to rescue…no dragon to fight…just fly quickly??!! My advice would be to avoid this game completely and buy Lord of the Rings 3 as that game does this kind of game play better. Hopefully the next Harry Potter game…Order of the Phoenix – we will see a return of the original style of the Harry Potter games.

A disappointment...
In a word Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire for the PS2 is a disappointment. The basic idea of the game is to complete several levels and collect 'shields' to enter the Triwizard Tournaments. You access these levels by a 'pensieve' which works as a menu. Harry, Ron and Hermione go through these levels defeating monsters and collecting beans. There is no exploring Hogwarts and the Grounds between levels collecting wizard cards and finding secrets. There are no lessons, there is very little story and no side-quests. The loading screen seems to take forever just to enter a level, when you know you'll have to leave and redo it again ten minutes later to get the shields you missed. The multi-player is a nice addition, allowing you to play with up to two friends and you can spend beans to buy cards which you equip to your characters to make them stronger. However, playing with friends during the game can be troublesome, particularly when they get stuck around a corner and you have to backtrack to help them out and if you don't play with friends, the AI characters that follow you around do more damage to your progress then help. Most of the cards you buy have duplicates, so that you might have five Stamina +10 cards for one character, when there are only three slots for equipping cards. The graphics have improved considerably, which is probably why it takes so long to load, but the overall look is very rushed. The length of the game is incredibly short, compared to most games and HPCoS and HPPoA for PS2. It is also very easy, which makes the game twice as short as it could be. The end task against Voldemort is finished within minutes, afterwards you see the ending and think, 'Was that it?'. If you enjoy short and easy, repetitive tasks that you can play with your friends, then this game is for you. If you enjoyed Harry Potter and the PoA, and like lengthy games with lots to do, then avoid this game. Rent or play at a friend's if you want to try it, but you'll find that all you're paying for is graphics if you go and buy it. Overall I am disappointed with EA for rushing this game so that it was released with the film, which I very much enjoyed. Hope this review helps.

Recensisco il gioco e non il prodotto in questione. Lungo, lento, la modalità su più livelli non comunicabili è noiosa e troppo facile. Molto meglio il 5 o il 3

I bought this game as a gift for my daughter. We were given a time frame of 4-6 weeks for delivery.I received the product a week earlier than expected. Obviously, my daughter was ecstatic. However, her enthusiasm was short lived. All thee PS2's in our home would not play the game. Two of the PS2's are brand new. We put in a few other games to make sure the consoles were in working order, and we had no difficulties with any of the other games. Only this game gave us trouble. A screen kept popping up, telling us to, "Please insert a PlayStation or PlayStation2 format disk".

Peccato che purtroppo ha solo la scelta tra inglese e tedesco ma rimane sempre un bel gioco di Harry Potter soprattutto per chi come me ama la saga. Lo consiglio soprattutto se si vuole avere la collezione completa.
