Fitting the lock was straightforward. A few packing washers had to be used but to be fair, this lock wasn't a direct replacement. For the first couple of weeks the lock was difficult to turn. Even wiggling the key to help align the internals didn't seem to work. Then, all of a sudden the lock began to work perfectly and has been ever since. The lock will fail if it is subject to lots of leverage and I accept that. It's not the only means of securing my garage door and shouldn't be relied upon. For the cost of it, I don't expect it to be.

My lock on.my garage door went on me, the lock was stuck in the open position and couldn't be locked to prevent the handle turning, tried WD40 etc and 2x keys bit lock seized. Ordered this replacement, parked the van up next to garage as it was open, and item arrived next morning.Took me literally 5 minutes to change (with a little helper outside to hold and feed the handle through whilst I got the bracket on from inside.I did have to trim a bit of the centre shaft off but already had my grinder set and took me 20 seconds, bolts also trimmed by few mm.Day 2, opens and closes no problem, locked and secure, 5 stars.I will update if I experience any issues as others have mentioned.

This was a direct replacement for a broken door lock and handle, only a few adjustments needed to make it fit. Good product.

As Edd had said easy to install. My old lock key kept spinning and internal cylinder would fall out. Replaced with this one had to trim the main centre bar, its notched for convenience, (I slid the old lock out just to check) mine was shortest, cut with hacksaw also trimmed the two large machine screws as slightly too long. I left my old pulley in place as this was ok and just slid in replacement lock, two washers two machine screws and all done!

I bought one of these a little over a year ago. It was reasonably easy to fit but I also had to buy a locking bar swivel to make it work.Recently, the lock has become sticky, requiring several minutes of jiggling the key to get it to turn. I tried graphite lubricant which helped a little for a few days but the problem returned. Eventually, I bought a new one just the same having compared several other available options ranging up to 3 times the price, principally because I knew this one would fit. Of course the new one works perfectly, but the question is how long will it last. When it breaks again I'll try one of the more expensive options.

Expected to cut shaft to length but not the fixing screws. Why aren't the screws at a length to fix all the way into spigots.

Bought a cheaper one here. Fell apart after a few months. This one was much better although the key looks like a lower level of security.
