Leerburg Amish Leather Leash, 10' Long 3/4" Wide, Brown

Very stiff leather will last for a long time and is a proper length to work my dog.

I was honestly a bit disappointed when I opened the package and inspected the leash.The quality of the leather isn't top shelf as they claim it is. When viewed on its edge, it looks almost like it's 3 separate pieces laminated together although I don't believe it is. But the outside edges are brown and the inside, which is a much thicker portion, is grey in color. It also isn't one continuous piece of leather from end to end - it's 3 pieces. One long (approx 10') piece, and 2 smaller pieces riveted and stitched on to form the handle and attach the brass snap hook. The stitching is another aspect that is disappointing. It's not terrible, and I'm not worried that it's going to come loose any time soon, but there are several spots that are slightly frayed.That said, it is very heavy duty. It's sturdy and there's no way the pieces are coming apart in the next decade even with heavy use. Actually it's a bit thicker and heavier than I was expecting. I've worked with leather leashes for many years and I have a 6 footer that is the perfect weight but I wanted something a bit longer for a new dog I just adopted.I'm not sure if I'm going to keep this or return it and order one custom made (for a little more money) from one of the many leather workers you can find on line.**Update** I've been using this leash for a few months now and the more I use it, the more I like it. The leather has worn well and is very comfortable to hold and manipulate. The stitching has likewise worn well. I've upped my rating from 3 starts to 4 stars. I do recommend this item.
