Works well
Today I cut my first log with the mill. I was very impressed. When assembling I used a square to align cross pieces and then marked them so I could tell if they were moving. I checked bolts after each board and nothing loosened. I used a 490 Jonserud with an 18” bar and a ripping chain. I highly recommend the ripping chain. Remember you lose bar length when saw is attached to mill. The widest board I can cut is just over 13”.

This is a GREAT TOOL!!
I set this up originally on my electric chain saw.. It works really good.. You need to be a little mechanically minded to put the saw Mill together. TAKE YOUR TIME.. The quality of the mill seems to be top notch. Good hardware. Once you add the chainsaw. It's a little bit heavy. I'm 72 years old. I'm in pretty good shape. So it wasn't a big deal with the weight. You need something to support the log while you cut it.. I use some saw horses I built. It's takes some work and PATIENCE at first. I really, really like the results after getting to know the mill. I would highly recommend it to you. Like I said, you have to be HANDY WITH TOOLS.. I've cut juniper logs into slabs. Then I used my table saw to bring them to the right size.. So far I've cut slabs and made 7 cutting boards. See pics. It takes a little skill and PATIENCE. I'm sure you'll be happy with this saw Mill.

Reasonably easy to put together
I have only used it twice, but I really like it. It is a great value for the money.

Really good for the price
Overall this is a great product. To be honest I'm a little surprised... I gave it a 50% chance that it was a worthwhile investment, but it seems sturdy and reasonably well designed for the price. It will pay for itself if you can get a handful of slabs cut. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is that the instructions for assembly could be better as was related by several other reviewers. On that note I will also agree that if you are at all handy you should be able to figure out how it goes together. In fact if you can't figure it out, you probably shouldn't be in charge of a dangerous tool like a chainsaw. Lastly I'll comment on the notion that a 50cc saw cannot cut slabs using this type of mill: it's true that a more powerful saw would be faster and easier, but it can be done depending on what exactly you're cutting. Using a Stihl Farm Boss, it took me about 2 hours to cut twenty 3"x12"x40" slabs out of some giant old Doug fir posts that were left over from constructing a cattle barn. Replace or sharpen your chain prior to starting your project, make sure your saw is tuned up, go slow (let the saw eat through the wood rather than using your weight to force it through), and you'll be fine. Use your brain, let the saw rest and cool down every once in a while if it seems like it's getting over worked (smoke, excessive heat) There is a lot of vibration so check to make sure all the nuts and screws are still tight every so often (especially the ones that are meant to be tightened/loosened to adjust the mill).

Unusable and unreturnable!!
Received this item and, during assembly, found one of the clamping blocks needed to hold chainsaw was not welded in place at factory leaving product unusable. Amazon does not support this product, not do they allow returns. Good luck!

Works OK, But Setup Is Frustrating
The FARMMAC portable chainsaw mill has good potential, and once it's assembled, it does the job. The materials feel durable, and it handles cutting fairly well. That said, the setup process was frustrating. The manual is poorly written and lacks clear instructions, which made assembly way more complicated than it should be. I had to rely on a YouTube tutorial to figure it out.It works, but the initial experience wasn’t great. If the instructions were better, this would easily be a 4-star product.

IDK what this is
IDK what this thing is but my husband asked for and he was excited. He disappears to the back yard and brings in slices of the trees from our property now. He has big plans and the tools to accomplish it now so that's 5 stars for us.

Decent product for the money
There are a variety of units like this out there. This is my second unit of this type and I’ve cut more than 300 cedar and fir boards and planks. It really works well as long as you are capable of sharpening your own chains, as they need to be sharpened often. This unit has better welds than some of the others and is holding up very well.
