I have had some outside for 3 months. It’s a long lasting product

I would stay it works as long as you top up. My plants aren't being eaten. You have to be generous with the amount you use

Does it need topped up from time to time?

I haven't had to do so yet, and it's made a huge difference in a problem area of my garden. I imagine that insect/worm activity will eventually mean that the layer of shell gets thinner, so I have another jar of this on standby.
