Demon Hunter

This book intertwines the existence of humans, ghosts, seers, wiccans and demons.Oh and there are a few lesbians for the lulls in the supernatural action. Linda is an excellent weaver of a crisp plot with multidimensional characterizations. Her characters have attributes which occur in nature, even the supernatural ones, not just the stock lesbian characters that many books have nowadays. The pace is rapid, I was pulled in quickly and held onto the book until I finished it in one evening. I highly recommend this book!! If you like paranormal/supernatural books you should check out her zombie series, time traveling teenager and her Echo series all five star reads.

I finished this today and all I can say is WOW. What an awesome book and a phenomenal start to a series! While reading this I could help but wonder if Silva is both a fan of the show Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the book The Screwtape Letter by C.S. Lewis. I found multiple similarities to both and they made me smile often as I myself am a huge fan of both. The writing was above stellar, the characters you immediately care about and the story was literally one you cannot put down. If you haven't read this yet, seriously...go...now.

I loved this book. The story line was very well thought out. How could you not love a book that has ghosts, wiccans, seers and demons in it. If you like supernatural/paranormal books you will love this. If you don't I'm sure it will change your mind about the genre. I can't wait for the next one already.

If you like paranormal/supernatural stories, then this is the book for you. Take a little bit of demon, wiccan, hunter, seer, ghost, and lets not forget everyday humans, throw them together and you have one heck of a well written book. I would recommend this book as well as any of the others written by Linda Kay Silva. She has a natural knack for pulling you into her paranormal/supernatural stories where you not only identify with the people in the story but, you feel like you are a part of it.

Just finished Demon Hunter... Linda Kay Silva has entered into the heart of this Dark Urban Fantasy fiend... Loved it! Silva's imaginative use of journaling, a compellng and frightening perspective on demons (both provocative and "real"), complex characters, and a deeply intuitive sense of legitimacy within the paranormal, made me a believer in demon hunters.

Solid story with great characters. Fans of Buffy the Vampire Slayer will enjoy this story of a young woman who learns that her destiny is to inherit the legacy of demon hunting that has been in her family for generations. The concept of the evil that people do being caused by the manipulation or possession of demons is intriguing.

So, I enjoyed this book. Some parts were mildly ridiculous but still fun. The story always took itself seriously though. Your milage may vary.If you like urban fantasy and don't mind a bit of outlandishness vaguely reminiscent of Buffy you will probably enjoy this.
