I actually used this product as a water and feeder for my dogs and cats. It works perfectly and a lot cleaner as I can adjust the height for both the larger and smaller animals I have.

We use these in iur brooder box for our chickens. They are easy for the baby chicks to access and for my kids to fill. Would recommend for brooder boxes.

I was super impressed with these troughs when they arrived. They are very thick and therefore very sturdy. This is really important when dealing with chickens because they will jump up on everything and peck everything, so it must be able to handle the pecking and the weight of a full grown hen when she is feeling like standing in the trough to eat food held in it. These are a little smaller than my other troughs, but still hold plenty of food, grit or oyster shells for my needs.The shape of the troughs has a nice lower front section with a tall back section, this helps the trough to stay flat against the wall surface where it is mounted and also be low enough in front for the chickens, ducks, and geese in my flock to easily access the food contained in it. The troughs come with the perfect size caribiner clips to fit in the two holes on the back section. You just install the clips in the holes then clip them onto a fence or in my case to the welded wire walls of the hoop coop I built for them. You could also use the screws to mount them to a wooden wall if that is what your coop or animal pen is made of.I love that the set included 4 of these troughs as I have them mounted everywhere inside the chicken coop, duck shed, and the shaded run so that they can access food no matter where they are. I mounted the goose food up higher than the chicken troughs because she is much taller and now she doesn't have to lean all the way down to the chicken level to eat from the trough. This also reduces the likely hood of the chickens eating her food which is specifically for geese and ducks. I also use them to hold oyster shells for my laying hens and grit for all of my birds. The shape allows you to use them for holding water as well but I only use them with dry foods.I would order more of these if I added more animals to my little farm because they are so handy to hang anywhere they are needed and move them anytime you need a food trough in a new location, and strong enough to handle use by all of my critters and even some that I don't have yet.
