Best thing since sliced Bread!
I have a German Shepherd rescue dog. She is reactive to just about everything from squirrels to strange men. Walking her has become an unpleasant experience with my arms and shoulders taking a battering every time we go out. She has pulled me over on several occasions (I am only 5'1"). Although her recall is good when there is no-one else around, I mainly walk her on a long-line. The lead then gets between her legs which makes it difficult to control her if I need to, especially if she then lays down on top of it. I have tried many different types of collars and leads. I was given a harness which just secured between front and back legs. The problem with this was that it kept slipping sideways, rotating around her body. Not being someone to give up, I kept looking and found the Eagloo harness. With fastenings both in front of and behind the front legs, with a breast plate and two positions for lead clips, with an additional hand grip on the top. It looked good at first sight, and had some really good reviews so I went ahead and ordered it. It arrived the next day. Forever hopeful, even if a little skeptical, I put the harness on my dog, made a few minor adjustments to the straps and off we went for a walk. WOW! Amazing! I can hardly believe it! I used the clip on the back of the harness, rather than the chest clip, and away we went. For the next hour, we walked calmly, with a slack lead (not quite a perfect "heal" but I'm not complaining) and nicely relaxed. Even when she saw a few squirrels, she took notice of my small tug on the lead and left them alone. The harness stayed exactly where it should be and the lead stayed away from her legs. Even though she has medium long hair, the harness fits well and seems very comfortable. Easy to get on and off with the back clip being very accessible, rather than trying to find her collar clip within her long hair. Just to prove this wasn't a first time reaction to a new harness, I have spent the last five days testing and analyzing her reactions every time we have been out. She still reacts when other dogs come close, but calms down much quicker and doesn't look like a toddler throwing a temper tantrum on the end of the lead. My arms are feeling great and no more friction burns from the lead running through my hands. I could go on for ages telling you how impressed I am with this harness, but I need to take her out on another enjoyable walk. Just for information, I bought the orange size Large to fit my 25lb German Shepherd. Perfect fit.

Great Harness
Great harness. Fits my Labrador well. Since I purchased this I have had much less pulling and greater control over my puppy. Great buy.

Much easier to walk the mutt
Decent bit of kit. My dog used to think every walk was a tug of war and I was definitely losing. This harness has made a big difference. It has a loop on the front as well as one on the back which gives you a bit more control, especially if your dog gets a bit overexcited at squirrels or bins. I’ve been using the front loop mostly and it helps steer him back on track without turning it into a wrestling match. The back one is fine for calmer strolls when he remembers how to behave. Goes on without a fuss and feels solid. No signs of wear so far and it stays put without needing constant adjustment. All in all it does the job and has made walks a lot more civilised. No complaints from me or the dog.

Good fit and stand out colour
Good quality. Lovely bright orange colour which makes dog easy to spot when she is disappearing across the park or into undergrowth! Much more comfortable fit than previous harness we had. Good adjustability, the neck needed to be adjusted smaller a lot, whereas the chest needed to stay fairly large, but a good fit was achieved. It doesn’t make my dog choke when pulling hard , (previous harness seemed to press on throat). The clips feel sturdy and easy to use. When using the front clip for “no pull” effect it is certainly very effective, without harming the dog. She stops trying to pull within a minute. I only use it intermittently, when she has a bout of pulling to try to go after scent trails and I need her to stop. Also, the harness is good because it doesn’t slip round the body out of place like other ones can - it stays very well positioned and seems comfortable. I would buy this again - might get another colour.

You’ll rarely need a collar ever again
Firstly if you are considering switching from a collar or choker lead to a harness, do it! Having used a choker lead on our dog for his first 5 years, switching to a harness has been a revelation. He is a very fit and strong, muscly, highly sociable 30kg black lab, and he can pull very strongly in some situations, as well as sometimes darting and lunging to say hello to other dogs. A collar or choker lead gives little control when this happens and when he pulls, he can pull to the point of choking and wheezing, which makes me look like a bad owner to other people we see along the way. Embarrassing because he is a well-trained dog. I doubt very good for his health either. The use of a harness has changed virtually all that behaviour. He must be way more comfortable and I now feel sorry I ever used a collar and choker lead on him. Secondly, if you are considering this actual harness, do it! Whilst this is the first one I have ever used, it is very strong, extremely high quality and well thought-through. It is properly padded in all the right places, and elasticated at points that relieve pressure on his body. The fittings are strong with alloy rings where you can attach the lead (chest or back) and I use the chest ring to hold his dog tag with our contact details. The edging to the fabric parts has flouro stitching which glistens attractively in the sun and is very effective in the dark. Overall, it makes him look very smart and ready for action, like he has just come off an action movie set. Finally, a clever touch and huge benefit is the discreet fabric handle on the top of the harness, useful for pulling him away from other dogs that don’t reciprocate on his friendliness or for keeping him still for say, removing ticks or a splinter. Fantastic!

The harness looks great. It looks well made and sturdy. Didn't have a chance to walk my dog in it yet. I like that the straps are adjustable. I have a 4.5months old puppy, weight 10kg, and he was in-between sizes so I went with a bigger size. I'm glad I did. The straps are tied to max at the moment but there's a plenty of room to adjust them when he grows up. Definitely go up if your dog's still growing.
