Disappointing
This laptop has some good and bad features. overall, i have to say it's disappointing.Cons:1. the shift key on the right is half the size of normal to make room for the up arrow. I constantly hit the up arrow instead of the shift key, as a result. Seems like an obvious design flaw during use, and more intrusive than you'd exepct.2. the fan is really loud. it also turns on during some really basic tasks, like web browsing. I don't get why. my work machine is a surface and it's night and day with the fan. They have comparable specs.3. I got a really big machine so i'd have a nice sized screen, but the keyboard looks like it was made for a smaller machine and fitted in. there's an inch of deadspace one each side of the keyboard. This could have been put to good use, i think.4. it is really heavy, even for the size. it makes me reluctant to make use of the mobility. i don't want to lug it around.5. the flipping touchpad, OMG. the line in the middle is there so you know where to click to get a left click and a right click, but the touchpad doesn't follow this. click way on the left and get a right click menu. click over on the right and it selects instead of providing the menu. it's all over the place with left and right clicks and very hard to do either deliberately. this is infuriating.Pros:1. performance is really nice.2. touchscreen is highly responsive3. screen is very pretty. resolution seems good for movies.4. battery life is as advertised. it's quite nice to get 6+ hours on the go.
