Amazing
I've always used vax but after my last one stopped working properly and was making a horrible noise in under a year I needed something else. I saw this and after looking at what it does it was very much the same but alot cheaper. Providing my last was less than a year old I thought I'd give it ago. The box it arrived in was very light so didn't hold out much hope. Very little was needed to put it together and took only a few seconds. I was absolutely amazed at how light the hoover is. I have health conditions which means I tired very easily. And instead of taking a break half way through hoovering the living room I was able to do it in 1 go. So much dust came out of the carpet. The pipe reaches to the top of the stairs and more. So definitely no balancing with the hoover on the stairs. The cable is long enough I could hoover upstairs and not have to unplug it from the bottom of the stairs. It's so easy to empty. Just push a button and give a shake and it all comes out. It's really not that noisy at all. Everything it comes with attaches to the hoover in its own little space so everything is at hand when you need it. I really cannot fault it. It might feel plasticy but in all honesty for the price of this compared to what I had before it's definitely worth every penny. I can't wait to do the car with the extra skinny nozel. I've been able to reach corners of the house that were forgotten about. I haven't even mentione the pet adapter. I have a long haired cat who likes to leave clumps of his fur as little reminders all around the house. I didn't even need the pet nozel it just zapped them all up. No trace of my cat anywhere other than the spot he's sleeping. Even he was impressed with the hoover, he didn't budge while I was hoovering round him.

Wow what a bargain!
Wow is this thing quiet! When I turned it on to first use I thought oh no this is gonna be useless but how wrong was I, this this on hard floors pulls pet hair, dust and dirt into it from easily over 6 inches away from the vac body and it does it so quietly. I still can't believe something with this much suction is this quiet I could talk over it without raising my voice and as a test even tried with my earphones in to see if it ruins the music like our last one did and it is barely audible at all over my earbuds listening to music at moderate volume. If you are tired of your old vac and think only the expensive ones are capable of doing a really good job then think again and buy this one as you really get waaay more than you pay for with this one. I would say it is better than most I have used at 3 times the price as it really does a great job at lifting let hair from carpets and furniture. The only thing I would say is the little brush attachment requires a bit of a knack to use it efficiently but once you master it it is great bot of kit that is good for pet owners to use on clothing and furniture! Would 100% recommend this vac for heavy domestic use as it really is deceptively powerful and as I say at a price that doesn't usually pay for something this good and it looks as sturdy as it feels and for a vac it is not an eyesore either or something oversized monstrosity that other well known brands churn out. All in all great buy for the following reasons. Good cord length. Really long hose great for doing stairs Seriously quiet Compact as uprights go Seriously bargain price Powerful enough to remove woven in hair Hope this helps anyone looking for a cheap vac like I was due to cost of living but thinking they would only get something mediocre at best for this price!

Important Amendment to earlier comment.
Good value when compared in price to others on the market. Great suck when used on carpeted and uncarpeted floors and as I had been without a vacuum cleaner for several weeks the cannister was soon full so resorted to instructions for how to remove it, empty it, clean and replace filters etc. No problem. On first use, because I have a number of rugs with very thick pile as well as an area of thinner carpet and some plain wood floors, I did need to resort to instructions in order to discover for myself the best setting for the switch on the front of the thing. Here I must complain. I am very elderly, my fingers are arthritic, and that damned switch - which needs to be adjusted a number of times during each cleaning session, dependant on which floor surface requires cleaning, is the very devil. It is appallingly stiff and with very little leverage to turn it. A pity because it makes floor cleaning a real pain if, like me, you go from thin carpet, to wood, to thicker pile larger rug, to vinyl in every cleaning session. Now! The tools! I don't have animals so the pet gadget doedn't concerne me. However, I did hope, with the use of the long suction tube and the 2 rigid extension pipes, to be able to suck out from under the beds which stand on wooden floors, the dust which regularly accumulates. Being old and a bit feeble, I was hoping not to have to shove beds backwards and forwards and side to side in order to use the basic vacuum. I Had assumed the rigid tubes and one of the brush attachments would do the job. However, the suction through the hose and the tubes and the brush attachment is so feeble that no dust is picked up. I do not kniow why. I have emptied the cannister and removed and cleaned all filters, detached the hose at both ends to check for obstruction, but the suck remains extraordinarily feeble. It is incomprehensible to me. I have set the number on t he aforementioned front switch to 5, which is what the instructions direct the user to do when using tools. but still no suck through either the hose itself or the hose plus tubes. I cannot find any ot her review which mentions this, althouh I admit I haven't read them all. So in summary, this vacuum is lightweight, which is what I wanted, it is marvellous for floor surfaces, provided the user is prepared to adjust the settings several times during use, doing battle with that wretched front switch. switch. which is inconvenient both in position - right down almost at floor level so unkind to stiff backs and knees- and in design, So in summary, Good price when compared with others on the market, almost no suction when trying to use tools - I gave up! - and a VERY badly designed and inconveniently sited floor brush adjustment switch. I now wish to amend the above review, Having expressed disappointment with the poor suction when using the tools, I spent most of this sfternoon burrowing into reviews and information provided by youTube contributors. I discovered finally that there was a blockage right inside the head of the vscuum which prevented a viral flap from closing when the switch ion the head was turned to the tool position. Lots of poking about with a flexible length of plastic ensued, quite a bit of dust and debris appeared, I emptied the dist cannister yet again, cleaned the filters again, reassembled the entire thing and, behold, there is now magnificent suction through the rigid tubes and the flexible tube. For the assistance of anyone reading this, the blockage was deep inside the opening into which the bottom end of the flexible tube is attached. So finally, I do indeed now have the truly excellent vacuum for which I hoped when I ordered this. Furthermore, the switch on the head the stiffness of which I complained aboutearlier now moves freely. Clearly whatever blockage existed was affecting the function of this switch as well as the suction when using the tools. I hope this information helps any ot her puyrchaser who has been as disappointed as was I by the vacuum's performance. Judging by the large number of comments which appeared when I Googled my dissatisfaction with the suction along with the model's name and number, this is quite a common problem.

Reasonably Good Hoover, Good suction
I bought due to the brand Hoover being around for years and good reviews . I didn’t want to spend a fortune as I don’t have many carpets. The price of this one was reasonable and I must say despite negatives I am happy with it for price I paid Pro’s : it’s got good suction both with and without the pipe . It’s quite light. At a reasonable price. Negs: the hoover itself seems rather cheap plastic, the extendable pipe is very thin it’s almost translucent. The attachments nor the bracket won’t stay on the hoover so I’ve put them in a bag instead! This why I’ve not put a 4 star rating. Also there is no light on the hoover which I didn't realise.

Highly recommended!
Absolutely brilliant! Ashamed at how much dog hair and dust it picked up on first use of carpets I’d been using a cordless Hoover on. Works just as well on hard wood floor too. Tool attachments are great and lots of suction even with the extension pipe. Very happy customer!

Brilliant!
Within two minutes I knew that this was going to be a winner. A good, no frills, gets-the-job-done piece of equipment that in one pass removed more dust and pet hair than any previous vacuum cleaner that I've used. Fed up with having to replace or recharge a battery that's left you short, try 240v - it works! Any child of the 80's will know how to keep a cord out of the way! Slight worries about long-term durability, it's lack of fancy features (I mean, you even have to put away the cord manually) means a lightweight piece of equipment that I don't have to worry about my 50-year-old muscles carrying around. It doesn't sound like a rocket when in use, it's wide cleaner head passes through my house with ease, and proper container size means that if I want to put my feet up afterwards and have a coffee & cake, I don't have to worry about emptying it immediately. And it's a 'Hoover' - which means I can say that I'm going to do "the Hoovering" without some bright spark in the family trying to correct me that it isn't "a Hoover". Brilliant!
