Works well and is small and handy for our camper
Works well and is small and handy for our camper. Having the temperature displayed is great. We could see that the CO levels increased when we put the stove on and it advises you to ventilate at this point (I understand that it goes off if levels remain high or are very extreme but it didn’t sound in our van, thankfully). The “all clear” message is also reassuring.

worth every penny
I was weary of spending more on this detector than the others available, but when you work it out, over a 7yr period, it's negligible. The peace of mind knowing they are there is priceless. This is a high quality product. They are guaranteed for 7years too. Then you have to replace them as the sensor only lasts that long and the battery dies. The battery is a sealed Li-on, lasts the 7yrs, so no need to replace it. I bought two for up and downstairs. I tested them both and they do alarm @ +50ppm. I didn't get any false alarms. One of them did get a 99-error, but it went when I took it out of test-mode. They have been working fine the last few months. They are also guaranteed for the 7 years which is a credit to FireAngel. If they don't last that long, you can send it back for a replacement. One thing I will say, the alarm isn't as loud as I thought it would be. Maybe it's just me. I don't know whether it would wake me from a deep sleep. So I've kept one of them just outside my bedroom. The other is in the kitchen. You can wall mount them, or leave them to happily sit on any flat surface slightly tilted, which is a nice touch. Comes with wall fixtures too. The green LED blips every minute to let you know it's working away too.It is aesthetically pleasing, and the option of temperature display is good to have, but you can't have both reading on at once, it's one or the other, which is a shame. The digital readout is very easy to read. It gives real-time reading in ppm and a 28day peak history too. I like the fact that when you press the button, you're testing the alarm at the same time. Recommend it!

Fireangel initial impressions and temperature test
Just purchased this through Amazon, great price and extremely quick delivery. I don't often write reviews, but after seeing another review regarding the temperature differences between differing digital thermometers and the fact this CO2 unit has one, I thought I'd try out my own testing.I activated the Fireangel CO-9D in the kitchen. The temperature read out displayed 20 degrees C. By contrast, my 5 year old kitchen radio controlled digital clock with digital temperature display, indicated a full 5 degree difference higher than the CO2 alarm. After an hour of letting the CO2 alarm settle, the temperature display had not altered from the 20 degree reading, so I moved it to my airing cupboard just to check that the temperature sensor was working. It rose by 4 degrees C within a few minutes. I then decided to carry out an outside temperature test, so I moved the CO2 alarm outside and placed it on the patio table with the kitchen clock and my 16 year old Oregon Scientific weather station which is usually permanently positioned in the conservatory. I left the 3 units outside, all positioned facing the same way. After 45 minutes, the CO2 alarm registered 18 degrees C, which matched precisely with a very accurate weather station app on my phone that uses the nearest local weather station where I live and it also matched the temperature display in my car, which had been sat outside all day. My kitchen clock and Oregon weather station didn't fair so well, registering an outside final temperature difference of 4 degrees higher than the Fireangel CO2 alarm. All rather boring I know, but I can only deduce, that the temperature sensor components in the Fireangel CO2 alarm are far more accurate than my other devices, which as I pointed out, are considerably older than the CO2 alarm. One would therefore hope, that the more important CO2 sensor is equally as accurate and of course, I hope I never have to find out! So my point is, if like me you have more than one digital temperature device and they are all displaying different temperatures to the Fireangel CO-9D should you purchase one and you're concerned at the difference in readings, if you can be bothered, I'd carry out a similar test to the one I did so you can form your own conclusion. I'm confident in my home testing, that my Fireangel is correct.Asthetically, the unit is pleasing to look at and far better than the old CO2 alarm circa 2007, which I've just disposed of. For peace of mind, I'd recommend buying one, especially if you don't get your boiler serviced regularly, i.e. annually, and I know plenty of people who haven't had their boilers serviced for years citing the the old adage that if it ain't broke, don't fix it! which of course is not the best course of action! I had my own central heating boiler service just two weeks ago in case anyone is wondering! It's also great that the unit is completely portable, just remember not to throw away the pin that isolates the internal battery when reinstalled.I bought this particular unit as it generally has great reviews. Buying this unit through Amazon, was also considerably cheaper than many other High Street outlets. Anyway, I'm happy with my purchase.
